This place can really be absurd sometimes. I mean, I know this is GD, but c'mon. There is a literally a multi-page thread on grocery inflation, and this thread where everyone is telling you to throw out meat. You know, that stuff that is flipping expensive now?! Have you ever heard of cooking? It's pork, right? Were you planning on eating it raw? I used to work at a diner, many many years back, off the 10 outside El Paso. Had loads of folks come through there. In the summer, we'd get meat packages, and in the heat we couldn't always get the packages stuff to the fridge or freezer quick, or we'd have to restack things move stuff around. A lot of the time the stuff delivered was in styofoam cases, sometimes not but it would be sealed in plastic and we might have to lay it out by the delivery area until someone was free to pack it away. Sometimes frozen items would defrost or thaw a bit, but those would eventually get to the freezer where they'd freeze up again. Anyways, I have seen some of the packaged meats swell up just like that, or even more so - like full on balloon. We always cooked it up, and never once do I recall anyone complain of food poisoning. That stuff is safer than you think. Plus that one is in a marinade, so probably has some citrus in there which will keep the bacteria from growing. |
