I don't own one, nor any Alpina. I'n not a fan at a $2K pricepoint. The style is not for me, Alpina has no panache, and a butterfly clasp seals the meh-ness. But that's my opinion and it's not my money. Buy what appeals TO YOU! |

Buy it if you like it. It's got a Sellita base movement so thats good. Alpina has some history in watchmaking. They won't hold value as well as some other brands. |

I'm not too concerned about resale, but I held off on buying the piece because I though the price should be lower yet. Well, the sale is over now and I feel I might have made a mistake. Switzerland will face one of the steepest Trump tariffs, at 39% |
| I had an Alpina GMT several years ago. It was a very nice watch but it wasn't for me so I sold it. I'd have no problem buying another Alpina. If you're open to feedback on the watch itself, I would never buy a watch with such little contrast between the hands and the dial. That combined with just how busy it is, I can tell you even if I owned it and loved the look I would never wear it. Next, I think the overall styling is such a blatant AP copy, that it makes a lot more sense on a much less expensive watch. Alpina has enough cache to do their own thing. If I wanted a less expensive Royal Oak I'd grab the Casio. The most important thing is that you should disregard my opinion and get whatever you want. Cheers. |

Its a watch. If it speaks to you, you like it, and can/feel as though you can afford it.....Who really cares?!?! Not my cup of tea(boring same ole' black dial diver fan here so definitely not judging). Kinda reminds me of a chrono version of a Tissot PRX or Yema Wristmaster. But if you like it, that's all that really matters. |
Okay, it's the morning after, I'm sober and realizing that the girlfriend might just be a fatty.  You guys are right, that dial is just too busy to look at every day. But I do love the case and the overall look, so I just ordered this one. I'm not into the rubber strap part, so I plan to find the bracelet down the road. As a side note, I could only find it in stock overseas at a German site. Will I get hit with a tariff?    ETA: I found a video of both side by side. A couple of updates on this. The watch, not the first one, but the second, did arrive and is no less than spectacular. The rubber band is worse than I thought, the way it connect to the case and how much it tapers down. But I found an OEM bracelet ($240) at a dealer in the Netherlands, so this will be fixed soon. There was a 10% tariff, which DHL billed me for and I paid online. But since I got the watch for around $1,300 new, it's still a lot less then what they were selling for here before it was discontinued. This tariff is under the old, over $800 rule. I'm not sure where it's going to be under the new rules. |

I second this - I like the *overall* look - I'm a fan of the metal / steel / industrial look of it, but the contrast of the hands and dial make it a hard one for me to see / use...at least based on the pic that you posted. But that's my opinion...I'd wear it if it landed in my lap - to try, you know, ya gotta make sure! LOL!! |
