Going to buy a windows based rugged device. Leaning towards dell latitude, Panasonic or getac tablets or laptop. Max budget $200 so will be used. Plan to use solely for automotive data logging/coding. Which one should I get? |

| Toughbooksare fairly modular so you can add stuff that you don't have and want in many cases. I have first generation FZ-55 that while slow with a 6th gen Intel processor, it's still usable. My favorite was the Latitude I had at work…dual serial port, 12th generation i7, 32 GB of memory and built in LTE…just didn't have enough USB-A ports on it. |

You're going to have to triple your budget to get into the game for a used toughbook I been doing laptops for service techs for near 20 years. Hardest thing they are on them imho is usb ports next things is drop damage and or spill damage. For 250-300$ max 500$ you can get a more current gen chip and better ram situation on a lease turn in refurbed dell off amazon. 9 times out of 10 they are good machines, once in a while you catch one that's a lemon or has some issue ie a bad keyboard or touch pad. But those used dell latitudes take a moderate amount of abuse and are usually within 3 -4 years on the chip when we get them. They will if taken care of easily last 5 to 6 years with the current software needs. a 200$ toughbook yeah never seen that. |

A gen 6 chip laptop with 8GB of ram and a 256gb hard drive running windows 10 off fleabay will be slow as death. Here is an 11th gen chip laptop that will run circles around that one.. plus its got more ram and a WAY faster SSD vs that HDD https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09WXZV2T2?tag=arfcom00-20 |
