Never had much luck with extended 10/22 mags over the years, Ram-Line and Eagle were garbage, only Butler Creek mags ever functioned well. Several years ago I bought a few of the BX mags which seemed to work OK, I never liked the idea of keeping my BC mags loaded long term as they're pretty old but I loaded up some of the BX's and tossed them in the gun cabinet. Shooting a bit today with one and around the sixth shot the next round wouldn't pick up, and was tilted down so far I couldn't pull it out by hand, had to strip it out using a cleaning rod for leverage. Two more tilted rounds like that and then I could unload it OK. Wondering if anyone else has problems with BX's stored loaded for extended periods. |

I usually load my mags the day before I go shooting. Normally this isn't a problem. I think I was using Thunderbolts one day, and for whatever reason I never made it to the range. So the mags sat in the trunk, in Florida, for a few days before I use them. Complete and total failures. Ended up taking one of the mags apart to find out why the sudden change, and the entire inside of the magazine was covered in wax. Cleaned it out screwed them back together, tossed the rounds in a tumbler, reloaded and they shot just fine and I still use those mags to this day. I rarely have any problems with BX Mags. Maybe clean them? ETA I don't mean spray them out, I mean take them apart, stretch out the mechanism, lightly oil the springy thing, and reassemble. |

| I am guessing that the lubricant on the bullets is all gummed up inside the magazine, clean it and you will likely be fine |
