Just got a new one in 22 Win Mag. Stock is synthetic, rotary mag, green hi viz sites. Its simple alittle crude like most Ruger offerings but very solid and accurate. Ive never been a Ruger fan...Yet I seem to keep buying them and enjoying them.

I have a youth Ruger American in 243 for my son. Very accurate. I have another in 22lr, takes 10/22 mags and is an excellent suppressor host. And I have a mossberg MVP in 224. Also very accurate. It's nice it takes AR15 mags, but the mags can be finicky as they are loose. |

My 5.56 has a tight bolt, but it loves my soft rimmed spanish SS109 rounds that I can't use in a semi due to rims ripping off. I added at large bolt handle cover which made actuating the bolt waaaay easier. Also put a flash can on it. It is a joke to shoot at 100 yards. Accurate enough to be boring. 300 yards on a 12" target is more challenging but still quite easy from a rest. |

I have a handful of American Ranch Rifles, a Predator and a American Compact. Been very happy with all of them. I also have the CZ 527 SR. While it is a nice rifle also I have only shot it a few times after getting a Ranch in the same caliber. By simply replacing the trigger spring with a lighter spring they have nice light crisp trigger pulls. Disassemble the bolt and polish the Cam surface/ramps and the locking/unlocking becomes much smoother. The bolt sliding in the action is rough compared to many other bolt actions but it works just fine so it's easily overlooked for me. Now the AICS mag versions I don't like how you have to take the mag catch, spring and pin out to take the action out of the stock. |

The beauty of the Indian Creek is the ability to use 7.62x39 AR magazines. That is why I got it. In my instance, I got the slightly longer hand guard (about $40), buffer tube and stock (had them, but still cost money), grip (same, but also cost money). I also had to order the AR magazine kit from Ruger, under $30 shipped. If you want to fold it, even more. |

Don't even need to swap the trigger......I swapped out the MIM cocking piece for a billet part on my American .308 and now get a consistent 2.5 lb trigger pull. a bit of fine sandpaper on the bolt to slick it up and stiffened up the stock by filling voids with JB weld epoxy. |

I may have to look at the Ruger as an option for my next rifle. I was in Cabelas a few weeks ago and really likes the Savage 110 Tactical so much I ordered one in 6.5 Creed. After looking for ammo for it and not finding it I was able to cancel my order and was hoping to pick one up in 308 instead since they were on sale for $549 at the time. The reviews on the Savage 110T were pretty good and I wanted something threaded, but will look at a Ruger if I can find one. |

You would need to use 7.62x39 caliber specific AR mags instead of your Mini mags. This is path I’d probably do, but I have a 7.62x39 AR snd a tone of reliable mags for it so switching from the Mini30 mags would be an easy decision on my part. |
