| I’m not surprised. I love 191 pistols but Taurus did everything they could to make theirs look like shit. And as a bonus run like shit too. Takes some effort to do that. I feel like the Taurus 1911 era was that time when Taurus made stuff that either worked perfect or not at all. And before that as well obviously. Seems like they have improved the reliability over the years for the most part by sticking with revolvers and a small amount of pistols. How you can make a 1911 as a major manufacturer and have it not work consistently through all the pistols sold is beyond me. I have always had good luck with Taurus in the early 2000’s and still have a 605 that has always worked and is still my fishing gun. If that is all I had to carry for the rest of my life I would be fine. That being said, with the options today, there are so many more pistols out there I would spend money on before Taurus. Side note, I remember being younger when Taurus brought out their oss service pistol. At the time that thing looked so badass. Never bought one though and would have been let down I’m sure. |

| Is Taurus warranty service any good (i.e. were you able to get a pre-paid shipping label without any fuss)? When Taurus first came out on the market their warranty service was very good, but then it went downhill. I don't recall any recent thread on their warranty service and whether it has improved. |

I've sent them several customer's recalled PT111s over the years. Called, they sent a shipping label, customer received a brand new G2C or G3C w/ 2 mags. I've sold quite a few G3Cs, G3XLs, and now their snubs, haven't had to send any of those in yet. Now Charter... |

| I know GD loves to hate Taurus, and that's fine, but I'm here to tell ya that their 92 pattern pistols are not only GTG but probably a best buy value for pistols if one is looking for an "old school" design DA/SA service type weapon. Just say'n. |

This is truth I ran several mags through a full size taurus 1911 when they came out, beside a Colt Combat Elite and Wilson Combat CQB. The Taurus did everything the Colt and WC did, including shooting almost hole for hole at 25 yards off rest. All 3 did 3 holes touching with WWB. I was impressed but I couldn’t love it because it was a Taurus. |

Interestingly the handful of Taurus 1911s I know of all run well according to the guys that own them. I've shot one of them and it ate whatever he had in the mags without a hickup.  You remind me of a former friend of mine who had have issues with a Ruger Super Redhawk, a Mossberg 590, a S&W 442 and .22 and a couple of other guns. I think his Glock 23 was the only gun he didn't somehow break.
