Return of the Dell XPS ... This is the XPS now NO! I do not work for Dell, nor do I have financial investements in Dell, Inc. When some karen at dell decided that the "XPS" was too masculine/male, they ditched the branding/lineup and came up with a bogus model that lacked the [ESC] key Cuz ya know ... nobody can be allowed to "escape" Re-reintroduced for 2026 is the 14" and 16" and even a 13" will be making its way back onto the market. Sad that the pricing is going to be ass raping folks for the cost of RAM and SSD, but everyone is taking that up the poop-shoot these days. I am milking everything I can on my 7590 (4K/i9/32GB) since I held off on upgrading my personal laptop while karen/dell was fucking shit up. When we did a refresh "way back when" I took advantage of employee purchasing and scored my work laptop for a $400. (new battery, new/larger SSD, and maxed out the RAM at the time ... just replaced the fans with new ones earlier last year) Yeah, I got a macbook m3 for work, but its not like I am in a position to argue on it - its what we are issued. Dell dragged their fucking feet on the Alienware line and Apu is all you get for support/service these days. R8-13 were all the same - just different plastic. XPS laptops were the best I have used. (Lenovo, Toshiba, HP, and even an ASUS were all on my desk or in my backpack at one time) I won't ever buy a MacBook Pro again, the 15" MacBook Air M3 and M4 are really the most cost effective from apple. Linux Mint runs on the XPS 7590 like butter... |
