I have this 3714 Portugieser that I know I would wear more often if it had a SS bracelet instead of the leather band. I called the dealer I purchased it from in ‘21 and they say “IWC did not offer a bracelet for that timepiece”. Well no shit. I heard that the bracelet from the 3716 fits my watch, but how would I go about finding out for sure? Also, if it DOES fit, is this something you think I could install myself? Thank you! If you’re not set on end links that contour the case personally I would like at a straight end link bracelet that pairs well. At first I didn’t think I’d like that route, but tried it on a few watches and it worked well, especially if you go for something that is mesh which traditionally is straight end link. Not sure I’ve ever seen one that wasn’t straight end links. Buy one with quick release spring bars so you can swap back and forth with leather. Stunning watch! Something like this. |

What is the lug width on that model? Usually somewhere between 18mm-22mm. Knowing that dimension, like HiramRanger stated, you could get a "generic" bracelet that would accommodate your specific watch. Eta: i used the term "generic" as a catch all phrase to be substituteed with "one size fits all". MilTat makes awesome stuff and definitely is heavy on the quality side of non-oem bracelets/straps in the aftermarket game. |

AI missed it again. But I understand, every website that I found with a 3716 review said the same thing.. “the lugs are slightly different” so it won’t fit. But it does. Perfectly. I image that IWC wanted people to think they were incompatible so interested parties would just buy a new watch. Here is my 3714 with a factory 3716 band installed by the local IWC boutique. | Looks nice, and I’m normally a steel over leather fan, but in this case it seems to lose something on metal. In the summer I get it, but in cooler weather that leather is fire. |

My issue was mainly that the leather strap was stiff and uncomfortable. It didn’t conform to my arm very well. Plus it’s “snap” closure rarely held. Not the best design. My Pilots watch and Rolexes with bracelets are much more comfortable to wear. Now this one is too!
