There are a few threads out there about the myriad of issues with RVs, and we won't argue that here. In this thread, show off your setup, and maybe drop a few points of why you got it, still have it, and what you do with it.  "The House" White Bear, International 4300 crew cab w/ 240 gal of fuel pulling a Solitude 382WB. We live in that 5th wheel even here at 'home base'. Our new RV, a Tiffin Wayfarer 25RLW for agile travel and not having to move everything anytime we want to go somewhere for a week or two.

2014 Tacoma DCSB with OEM tow package (6400/650 lb rated). Trans cooler, big batt, big alternator, rear suspension... all OEM. Overland Taylor Medium Spicy Tune  82k miles, used now for RV trips only. Have a daily. 2022 NuCamp T@b 320 S Boondock Edition - ALDE heater (air water), Compressor refer, wet bath, Outside shower, 200w solar, TV, Microwave, stereo. I upgraded from an older basic 33' Tahoe TH to this 44' monstrosity last year. I wasn't planning on something this big but I was buying used and the price, condition and location was just too good to pass up.  The size really limits where you can put it but it sure is nice once it's set up.The monstrosity:  The old Tahoe:

Attached File 2017 Tiffin 32SA. It keeps us below the 35 ft threshold for many federal and state campgrounds. We like to boondock a lot, but mix in FHU parks or find dump stations and water every few days. We have owned the old Explorer for 17 years and it's a must to get around a lot of the places we like to to go. I also like having two motor vehicles when we get out in the middle of nowhere out west. |

Home built, pretty much a bed on wheels with a galley in the back hatch. 11 gallons of fresh water under the floor, 100 watts of solar on the roof with two small Lifepo4 batteries, chinese diesel heater, LED lighting, and a roof vent/fan. The roof is one piece of aluminum diamond plate, sides are 3/4" MDO plywood assembled to the bulkheads with dadoe cuts, 3M 5200 marine sealant and stainless steel screws. Sealed with epoxy and sprayed with Raptor liner on the outside. Built the frame with a torsion axle, removable tongue, and used 16" Ford Explorer wheels because I have a basically unlimited supply of load range E tires from work. Attached File Attached File |

My setup is in the post above. Just generally concerned about pulling and maneuvering a trailer even longer than my current setup - how does that truck handle the big trailer? Does it push your truck around? - would that truck be a pain to daily drive? Its drw amd a bit longer than my current truck - you have the air suspension? You ever feel like you're at the limit of your truck? -maneuvering the trailer... im used to a bit shorter rig, but pivot point at the bumper. Just really concerned about backing into spots, turning etc.... Is it a handful? |

Old set up was a toy hauler. Had a sandcar in the back. Had it 15'ish years. Downsized to a GeoPro 19FBS. Got it mainly due to the light weight as I had a Tacoma at the time. Got sick of how the Tacoma towed/shifted so upgraded to a Tundra. Have done many upgrades to the GeoPro. Currently swapping out the bent axle and adding a small lift to get the plumbing a bit higher off the ground. Considering upgrading the AC use to a Furrion Chill cube. My RV in the front and my younger brother's in the back at the Harper's Ferry KOA in May. We are planning more camping meet ups since he lives in Ohio and I am here in NC.

As far as a DRW truck for a DD, the extra width can be a pain in parking lots, I choose to park quite a distance from the stores because you really need two spaces in most places. The ride is a bit stiffer than my old 2500 but not horrible. Unloaded and driving in the snow the DRWs actually are worse in the snow than my SRW truck but carrying some weight or switching to 4x4 take care of that. |

| An old ‘72 Streamline Countess and a ‘76 Silver Streak Supreme Luxury Liner. The Steak sits on some property I have. And when I camp I use the Streamline. It’s lighter and smaller. 27’ vs 34’. Unfortunately I don’t use them near as much as I want to. Tow rig is a ‘94 Suburban 454. The Silver Streak is at my limit for the Suburban. I couldn’t imagine towing it with a ‘76 passenger car. But some people did. And I bet they only did it once. Then either got a truck. Or traded it in for a smaller trailer. |

Here is our setup -2018 Dutchman Kodiak Ultimate. 28' with one slide and bunks. It is our first trailer. I think we are at 10 nights since purchasing last November? We are currently on a 22 or so day trip and really enjoying it. We are stayomg at a really nice RV park and are tucked in line with a bunch of big Brinkley 5th wheels, definitely one of the smaller guys. -2026 F250 with the 6.7. It has the 8' bed and with the kayaks on time I'm averaging 12 mpg if I keep it below 70. Plenty of power. My f150 did alright on flat land, but im glad to have bought the 250 before this long distance trip

40' Newmare Supreme Aire and a 26' Renegade stacker. I chose the setup because the primary use isn't "camping." It's to have somewhere to stay at race tracks. Primary focus was on having being able to tow comfortably. With 10 tires on the road and GVWR is 58k, 16k cargo capacity, 3k tongue weight hitch. Has Detroit DD13 (505hp/1850tq) and an Allison 4000 six speed (I wish it had more gears). Plenty of power most of the time, going though the Siskiyou Mountains with the trailer you're going to go 40mph or so. The rest of the time it's no issue. And without the trailer, "camping" is like any other 40' motorhome. I haven't weighed the trailer but I'm not going to tow it on the interstate with my Chev 3500 Dually, I've moved it around town and it is super tongue heavy, and especially with the lift in the trailer raised, I don't think that would be a good idea. The coach doesn't care at all since it's not a tail wagging the dog situation. Attached File |

I have a 28' Nomad that I'm temporarily living in while I'm stationed in New Orleans. Paid $4200 for it 8 years ago and it's been on many family outings. Attached File I'd like to get something bigger eventually. I'm thinking when I retire I'll buy a newer one and live in it while building a new home. |
