I’ll follow my own advice too, how I read it was a second party that claimed the cheating party. Either way it sucks to have lost him, he was a good dude. Donate to your local 2A organizations before the national orgs. The local orgs are proactive and get things done in your state house where the nationals are reactive and try to fix things after the fact and from a distance.
