Would agree, as the disagreement about politics has grown I’ve shut down any talk about it, tremendous pressure to go after husbands from social media now, have had several notes about my vote leading up to this election, she can’t leave it alone and just “agree to disagree “, think I know were this is heading, maybe just venting a little here |

If my wife sent me that, or even hinted that she thought of me as a sexist/bigot/homophobe, I'd be out the door so fucking fast there'd be a sucking sound from the vacuum created. That is 100% a dealbreaker. Hard stop. Married 32 years. When we got engaged, she was a leftist. She'd just graduated from Harvard, and was starting grad school at CU Boulder. Rush's first book had just come out, and I bought a copy for my mom. My fiancee at the time threatened to throw it out if she found it. We disagreed, but not to the point that either of us thought less of the other for their political view. There was mutual respect. 32 years later, she's probably more conservative than me. The person who wrote that tweet/statement/whatever in the OP is mentally defective, emotionally stunted, and incapable or rational thought or logic. Ejection/divorce is the only option. That's one of the benefits of TDS - it causes its sufferers to reveal their true selves for all the world to see. Just like the idiots who drive with their hazards on in a rainstorm. Few years back, wife was at work, she was in between cases in the OR, so she was at the nurses station checking the surgery schedule to see what was next, as per their usual all the female nurses were hanging out at the station, and having a hen-party where they talked shit about their husbands. "And I told him WE are not spending money on that" "I told him you are NOT bringing that into MY house" "He's such an idiot, I can't even let him have a debit card on our joint account" etc etc. My wife started giggling, they asked her why. This isn't my (men's) forum area, but I have no issue with this thread being here. "...Other Discussions" is very general, so I see no issue. I was literally thinking today, there should be a Dear Abby section, where men can seek advice from women on the forum. Women have a unique perspective and I'd bet most ARF women tolerate drama, so a no BS answer is what one would expect. To the OP, an earlier post suggested trying to break down the text and invalidate the accusations. Sounds like a plan, HOWEVER, it could also come off as mansplaining. That's where a women's perspective might help. |
