The FedEx truck came to visit yesterday. I usually know it's going to be a fun one when the driver leaves the package at the front door and runs off without ringing the bell... A little damage to the shipping box:   The box containing the NATO strap is a "bit" crushed - they even managed to break the silica gel packet inside of the container with the strap:  The box containing the watch had a bit of crushage, as well:  Fortunately, after inspection, the watch turned out to be fine and the strap is fine, just the packaging looks like it was brutalized. Omega is sending me out a new box to replace the damaged one.

Many of the 6105s develop black grunge in the lume plots which will eat into the plating around the markers and hands and make it very hard to restore the dial. I don't know what his backlog is like, but would recommend reaching out to Jack Alexyon at International Watch Works and getting a quote. He can do everything from a complete restore to like new or just a movement service/gasket replacement. I've been out of the Seiko game for a while, but IIRC, that model was only made for a short time between 1968 and 1970. The first two digits of the serial number would tell you the month and year - 9N would be November 1969, for example. It takes a 19mm strap, and you can find reproductions of the original waffle strap at Uncle Seiko and Strap Boutique. Note that this model doesn't have a ratcheting bezel or screw down crown. |

Yeah, first thing I noticed was the uni directional bezel. You are correct, 6105-8000. Only set of numbers my tired eyes can see are 02XXXX so February 1970? I measured the 19mm lug width, my wrist is huge (almost 9.5") so finding an extra long strap will suck. Hopefully a softer 20mm nato will squeeze in. Thanks for the recommendation! |

Nice to see other Omegas here! I inherited my dad’s 60+ yr old Omega self winding automatic. It sat in a drawer for years until recently. I had it serviced and it still keeps great time. Attached File |

I’ve been wearing the 2nd Gen Seiko Monster for a couple weeks. The main noticeable update from the 1st Gen are the “shark teeth” hour indexes. But the movement was upgraded to the 24-jewel Seiko caliber 4R36. Such a great caliber. -3secs a day. Watch people offer to buy it from me almost daily. Mine wears a black nato band. The strong lum is legendary.  |

I did a thing this week. I've always wanted a Swiss automatic watch, so I ordered a steinhart ocean one on Tuesday. It arrived Friday to my astonishment! Just hit the 24 hour mark and it has gained at most half a second. Im happy! Attached File Attached File |
