I’m at a loss here. My agency just switched to a uniform that uses a poly/wool blend material and no matter how much care you give them, after 10 minutes of wearing them they look like you pulled them out of a laundry hamper after being crumpled up in the bottom for a week. Any recommendations on how to deal with this? Our previous uniforms were 100% polyester and never had this issue. Trying hard to not look like a satchel of Richards. |
I feel for you brother having to wear that. When I first started we wore all poly. In 90 plus Alabama summer heat in the sun it was awful. Especially stuck on a crime scene taking hours to work. When we switched to Blauer cotton blend that was great, especially once broken in. Much more comfortable. Would have preferred cotton rip stop BDUs but my opinion was not asked for or wanted. Of course.

There isn't shit you can really do. My last agency was a highway patrol with wool and poly blend class b which was the daily uniform. It looked great in the morning but not so much in the afternoon. All I can suggest are shirt keepers to keep it tucked and kinda tight. I left 1.5 years ago to go to a S.O. that wears under armor type black tshirts with external black molle carriers with green 5.11 stryke pants. I don't wanna brag but they're transitioning us road guys over to high end outdoor research type lightweight pants now. |
