Gah I made a sheath, lined with buckskin to protect the finish. Left the thing in there for 3 hours and it started spotting with rust even though it was oiled    
Fuck this knife has been a PITA. Hoping I caught it soon enough I can just polish it with some 1500 sc instead of sanding again. You can't even see the spotting, just feel it. |
| Aaarerggghhh. Buckskin is usually not veg tanned. Should not be against the blade. I found it out the hard way too. True buckskin is brain tanned. That is a bit better so long as salts were not used. |

My folder is working great! I guess you got mine right the first time, do you think it was the combo of parts or something else? Mine actually opens so easy that I can open it just by flipping my wrist hard enough. Anyway, we'll have to talk about that other knife after the first of the year. That will be the project that I'll be looking forward to the most. Just finished upgrading the wife's AR and putting the final touches on my 7mm AR, so I can put money aside for another badass knife. Thanks again! |

I think the Tormek is a good piece of equipment and considered buying one for a time. Some experimentation has led me to personally believe a hollow ground secondary edge bevel is less durable than a flat ground edge. The difference may be minor and not readily apparent in normal use, so I don't recommend against Tormeks. I personally sharpen 2 ways. Anything 6" or smaller I sharpen on a jig that's similar to an apex edge pro with diamond stones and hand strip to finish. Anything bigger I sharpen on my grinder and strop to finish. |

They are even nicer in person.
Kuraki makes good stuff. Period. Not saying others dont as well, but his stuff is absolutely worth the money IMO/IME. I'm looking forward to being able to purchase more from him in the future. A KukriThing could be fun, and so would folders and BAB, (Big Ass Bowie). The scales on the Skinner look like green burlap micarta? I love the red liners on it. Can we see a full pic of the Bowie you cut the guard off of? |

I'm glad you took that guard off. I didn't think it fit in with the knife very well and took away from the rest of it. One of these days I'll have enough money to afford one of your Bowie knives.
