Forgive the potato cam pic, but I made the final move from the old place today Got my workbench back, and my vise. That was my father’s vise before me, that he procured before he met my mother. I learned everything about what you might could use a vise for on this vise. Wood blocking has been swapped out who knows how many times but this solid piece of American engineering has been gripping tight and square for at least 75 years. It was a pretty big deal when he said “you take this”.

I really like the Z7ii, I made the switch because I was shooting people more and the eye AF is such a time saver. I was hoping for a Z7iii with increased resolution, but gave up late last year got another Z7ii but full spectrum with a stack of filters. It seems like recent advances at Nikon (and others) are all shifting to global sensors, but implementation slightly degrades image quality since each photo sensor is smaller to make room for a tiny cache next to it (instead of under). I just couldn't justify the cost for a Z8 or Z9 it won't help the kinds of photos I mostly take. It would be a different story if I shot a lot more sports or fast moving animals. |

EBR Probably not too terribly different. 7,000 years is a pretty short time on the cosmic scale but yeah it’s definitely changed. Just think, it’s been up there for around 5 million years already. Either way we can only experience it at the speed of causality. What blows my mind is the sheer distance and size itself. It’s over 100 light years across and one light year is roughly 5.88 trillion miles. Absolutely huge. |
