Anyone else using a Phillips hue lighting system? Two things have changed for me Bought a new car Ceramic tint job Phillips applied some light bulb firmware update. Now I have to get out of my car and walk up to the door for them to work. Both openers with new batteries If I turn off the bulbs and the hub. The issue is gone Maybe this will help someone else Ridiculous |

LED bulbs, especially the cheap ones, are know to cause RFI issues. And that is why you are having issues. Anyone that has their amateur radio license deals with this all of the time. I won't use dimmer switches or dimmable light bulbs for the same reason, they are RF noisy. |

5 plus years ago I replaced the bulb in my garage door opener to a led. It didn’t cause any major issues. Just recently it’s been weird. I reset my 2 openers and reprogrammed them If it still happens the only thing left is my actual 1/2 hp opener. I don’t know what else it could be |

While I have not had issues with cheap LED bulbs and LED fixtures causing interference with my garage dipper openers, the cheap ones do cause RF noise on my radios. Most of the problems I have is on the 2m amateur band which is 144 MHz to 148 MHz. I occasionally get interference on the 70cm band and GMRS. 70cm is 420 MHz to 450 MHz and GMRS is 462MHS and 467 MHz. Garage door openers use frequencies around 300 - 390 MHz range. So it is possible that the dimmer and/or bulbs are causing an issue. I say that since you did state that removing power from the dimmers and bulbs does fix the issue. |

It’s now not working with the hue unplugged , light switches off I can get outside the car press the button and it still won’t open [img]/images/smilies/smiley_abused.gif[/img. If I go inside and press the wired door opener it works every time! I reset both wireless remotes and reprogrammed them on Sunday, time will tell. Only thing left is the opener itself.. |

Get a replacement opener and test again. I would inspect the opener board for breaks in the antenna line/antenna PCB. It is broken, not reason not to crack it open. You could also source an external opener and wire it in parallel with your existing opener. I have done this on systems where we have an external source (license plate reader, RF switch, scale, DTMF radio, etc externally triggering the open command). TT |
