Do we have a master peptide thread?

Background:

I’ve plateaued a bit in the last six months.

I’ve changed up my functional strength workouts a few times with new exercises, heavier weight, lower reps. I workout 7x a week - three strength training days cardio in between. My diet is almost always on point - no sugars, no alcohol, no gluten, low carb, high protein, etc. Creatine, vitamins, etc.

At 50+ I’m probably at the best overall shape of my life. I can’t run 20 miles like I could 15 years ago, but I’m stronger.

A few months ago I used Ways2Well for a blood panel and consultation. I don’t have any major issues, including decent T levels for my age.

Side note: I can’t recommend Ways2Well. The consultation I received was someone reading pre-made boilerplate responses.

Anyway…

I was just prescribed Sermorelin to assist with lean muscle growth and a reduction of visceral fat. My goal is to try it for six months and evaluate my progress.

Is anyone else using Sermorelin? Any other performance peptides?

I have never tried it. I don’t trust the sources.

Im not advocating it but it’s probably safer to buy something from that guy at the gym. Lol

Have you ever considered running a low dose of test? I can't ever say I've seen people using peptides for anything other than inflammation. SARMs are great but you better run a test base with them or they will crash it

What kind of cardio are you doing? Training 7x a week at your age might be harming more then helping depending on what you're doing. The two most effective ways for a natural lifter to increase performance is 1. Consume more nutrients (via food). And 2. Sleep/rest more.

Lifting hard/heavy 3 days per week. And then doing an intense cardio session 1x per week and then mobility/stretching and liss cardio 2 days is about right. I would not do any kind of super intense cardio/conditioning and try to do anything too crazy in the gym 6-7 days per week...  Lots of 'high performance' guys with great physiques actually have pretty shit hormones/natural testosterone levels because they are spiking cortisol way too much and are beating down their body too much.  I did it myself at one point.

What are your testosterone levels really? 'Decent T levels for your age' does not mean anything. For example if you are over 50 and have 200NG/DL of testosterone a lot of doctors will tell you that's 'decent'. Its in the 'normal' range. But a natural 50+ year old with 800 ng/dl of testosterone will live a VASTLY different life from you. Won't even compare to a 50+ guy running a moderate dose of testosterone in the 1200-1500 ng/dl range....

No experience with that peptide. But I know a lot of guys running other peptides and they all say they work great.

The safest place to get stuff from is a pharmacy. If that fails from someone importing directly out of China. If 'that guy' at the gym has a Chinese lab connection your golden. If you dont know where its coming from I'd leave it alone.

Running a 'low dose' of testosterone won't do anything unless he has really low T from the start.

If you're going to run testosterone you need to run near superhuman levels (1200-1500 ng/dl or higher) to really notice any kind of a difference. The cold hard truth is there is no completely 'safe' and 'healthy' way to get a major advantage. I think testosterone is extremely safe. But in the safe/healthy levels. You're not gaining anything over being natural with good hormones. Dudes doing 'TRT' is the new thing. But the reality is dudes are doing a small steroid cycle of testosterone. Its NOT replacement therapy.

I also wouldn't do SARMs unless I was under a doctors supervision who knows about them and is giving you a testosterone base and knows how to cycle you off of them. I know a few people that used SARMs and completely fucked themselves up because they weren't doing blood work and didn't have a test. base. If you are using real SARMs and not bunk stuff its going to be enough to fuck up your health/hormones.

Source = Me 12ish years of TRT. I've run some pretty high dosages. I've run some 'moderate' dosages.  I've also run 'low' dosages that had me around the same levels that I was at 'naturally'. If you want 'performance enhancement' you need to be around 1500 ng/dl IMO. You'll need to drain blood regularly and take an aromatase inhibitor as well.

If I wanted to go superhuman and remain fairly healthy/minimize risks I'd look into being prescribed anavar, winstrol or deca by a doctor and be monitored by him while I used it. Its 2025. Lets do this shit right and maintain our health.

Good info. Thank you.

I may be over training. My cardio is walking 4mi in the morning with a 35lb kettlebell and a 4mi walk in the afternoon 3x a week. My lower back keeps me from getting back into running.

I don’t like having true “off days”.

I definitely need to work on getting more sleep. I average about 6.5 hrs a night.

My T levels were at 670 ng/ml two months ago. I posted them in the big Testosterone thread in GD and the consensus was that TRT didn’t seem like the right choice.

I don’t really have much to complain about other than the fact that I have plateaued. I’m probably in the best shape of my life and other than being sore at times, I feel good. I’m just looking for ways to increase performance.

Ive done a lot of peptides.

They generally have small to moderate effects.

Once you realize they are studied way less than Testosterone and steroids, which are actively prescribed to patients, it just makes a lot more sense to do some reasonable steroid cycles.

Look into the ipamorelin/tesamorelin combo.

Then, once you realize you can just do generic HGH for cheaper, and get better effects, that will move you into the world of (gasp) steroids.

Without violating the CoC, where would one go to source HGH and for information on dosing? Theoretically.

Sounds like you are doing fine. T levels great for your age for sure. When it comes to 'performance' your best bet is likely upping calories. More specifically carbohydrates. Especially before lifting.

That's a ton of walking on the same days. Why not split it up to a 3-4 mile walk 6-7 days per week?

That feels like good insight right there. I’ve been trying to avoid most carbs.

I don't want to hijack OP's thread, but I have some follow-on questions.

Recently diagnosed with a herniated disc in C6 and some bone spur activity and arthritis in the cervical spine.  Numbness, weakness, and pain the right arm most of the time and a little in the left arm too.  Legs are in the very beginning stages of it so I know my whole spine is probably a little bit of a mess.

Surgery discussed with neuro but PT/meds/injections have to happen first.  I'm only excised about PT.  I don't want to take high-dose prednisone and I'm not interested in surgery except as an absolute last resort (spinal fusion recommended, although there are other options).

Some youtube research took me down the peptides route, specifically for inflammation work.  I know I have torn stuff in my shoulders that could be helped, and my knees too.

Several guys in my office (BJJ guys who are very very fit and active) have used BPC157 for specific injury and then commented that all the little stuff that has plagued them over the years got better too.

Curious if anyone has any specific peptide experience with nerve stuff, or at the very least spinal inflammation.  No I'm not expecting a peptide to break down bone tissue and return my spine to its teenage form.  But all the inflammation could be calmed a bit, and if some tendons elsewhere developed some strength along the way that would be glorious.

Not sure where to source either, I've read the American companies take Chinese lab stuff and slap on a label and an extra zero at the end of the dollar sign.

Comments welcome.

Just had a W2W follow up zoom call for labs today.
Had stem cells last August. They are a miracle drug.
I partake of several peptides.
Prices went through the roof after the FDA (Big Pharma)or whoever had them taken off the "GAS" list last October.
RFK has said he will be reversing that.
You could buy some off Amazon for decent prices until then.
I use a sketchy Chinese supplier.
My go to disappeared and I believe I have recently had my money taken and I will never see it again!
Such is life, but I hate paying retail.

The fact tat you posted that you have "decent T levels for your age" tells me you have much learning to do.
Numbers don't mean shit and if a provider says so, go elsewhere.
There's a great thread right here on ARF.

Tagging for updates.

I’m about to start Sermorlin next week. Been on BPC for 2 weeks then off for a week (I felt a huge difference) then back on for a week and finishing next week. On test cyp for about 3 weeks now too. Moderately active but need to start lifting again.

On your comment about W2W, I got a different experience. The first consultation last October was a really deep dive. I got an almost 1 1/2 hour video chat. Got some suggestions and supplements. Second time (6 month follow up) got prescribed TRT and BPC. Since I asked about Sermorlin, getting that too. The fog and lethargy is finally starting to lessen. I’m feeling like I’m waking up.

You seem like you’re way ahead of me. Good luck on your journey. Keep us updated and I’ll chime in on how things go with me.

I agree. I don’t feel as good as I think I could.

However, I’m cautious about starting something that will suppress natural T production.

I’m open to suggestions.

What lead you to BPC-157? A specific injury or another reason?

BPC-157:
1st vial- 3mg 5ml @.35ml every night (2 weeks)
2nd vial- 4mg 5ml @.30ml every night (weeks)

Testosterone Cypionate:
200mg 10ml @.25ml MWF in the morning (on week 3 now)

All subcutaneous injections.

Early October’24 I had enough of being lazy and out of shape (250ish lbs @ 5’8ish). Felt like crap all the time, lethargic, aches in all joints/feet, and foggy in the head. Already had 2 rotator cuff repairs in the right shoulder in under a year the prior year.

Since I listen to Rogan and Huberman podcasts, I decided that I needed to do something about it and just couldn’t get my regular doctors to listen or care. All bloodwork came back as “normal/within range”. Went to W2W, paid $400 (on sale), and got a VERY deep dive into my results (1.5 hour video chat). Below optimal on D vitamin, Testosterone, magnesium, good cholesterol, and a few others.
Got some suggestions exercises, supplements, and nutritional advice.

Fast forward 6 months for follow up and still felt tired, foggy, and aches in joints/feet. Even have something going on with the left elbow tendons that is causing inflammation/irritation of the ulnar nerve. Middle, ring, and pinky fingers are tingly/numb and weak. Right hand grip strength is low due to tennis elbow. It’s weird.

Got prescribed TRT and I asked about BPC-157. Started the TRT and BPC right away. Felt a bit better after day 5 (I know that the test reaction would take a while to see a difference). Noticed after the 1st vial was done that all my aches and numbness in fingers were gone.

After day 4 after I was done with it, the aches were coming back. Ordered another one and got a higher mg. After a week on the 2nd vial, I’m back to where I was with no aches. Feel better and also seeing a slight increase in energy due to being on TRT for 3 weeks now. I just hate that it’s $350 per vial.

Did some research on Sermorelin. I saw some overlap on effects and benefits. Messaged W2W about it, talked a bit about it and got a prescription. I am now awaiting for the compounding pharmacy to get back to me about pricing. If it’s reasonable, I’m going to get it. I believe it’s a monthly prescription.

I understand that there’s ways to get these peptides online for a whole lot cheaper but I refuse to inject myself with something that is not 100% fully checked out and verified. I don’t want to play in the grey area of the law.

I just want to feel better and get moving.

I just started on the "Wolverine Stack" yesterday.
500mcg of BPC 157 / 500mcg of TB500 once a day 5 days a week.
Will be interesting to see how it affects some of my nagging issues like tendonitis in my right elbow that just wont go away.

I'd just run actual HGH instead of Sermorelin.

Also, have you tried upping the carbs? You said you eat low carb, which isn't exactly the best for performance.

What kind of plateau are you hitting? Strength gains? Fat loss?

Unfortunately you are going to have trouble doing both of those at the same time. It's possible for a newbie, but increasingly difficult for somebody who is more advanced.

Both. Which is probably unrealistic. Carbs pre workout, as suggested above, have seemed to help with performance. But I’m guessing it’s going to be hard to shave 5lbs of fat while still making strength gains.

After almost a month, I have noticed a reduction of visceral belly fat, better muscle definition, and maybe some strength gains. I am as close as I have ever been to having a six pack. Not that it’s really a measurement of health and fitness.

I also have some muscle soreness.

However, I’ve also made some changes suggested by people here, such as adding a pre-workout meal with some carbs, adding some potatoes to a protein heavy meal, etc. And I’m disciplined about my workout schedule. So it may not be attributable to just the Sermorelin.

I’m adding some BPC-157 and TB-500 for a few weeks.

Definitely interested in this. I've been on TRT for a while, mine was 205 when I was 44 (51 now). I got serious about my health after a scare with the wife and I've dropped around 50lbs since last year by diet and exercise.

It feels like things are at the point that I'm stalling out and the old tendons aren't working as well so BPC seems like a good starting point. Is it oral or injectable?

Go take a blood test.

Privatemdlabs

Order it yourself.  Like 3 days after your blood is drawn, they email you the results.

Then you can stop guessing.  You probably have lower than optimal test.

Once you confirm that, you can ask the next important question:
If my natural test production is actually low, and I feel way better on trt, why do I care if my natural test production is supressed?

Do you intend to stop trt for some reason to enjoy your (low) utopia natural test levels?

Literature indicates oral may not do much beyond the gastro tract.

Will be interesting to see how it affects some of my nagging issues like tendonitis in my right elbow that just wont go away.

double the TB500 for the first couple weeks

The compounding pharmacy my Dr uses combined them (I guess). There was only one vial and she took the time to reconstitute it and preload all the syringes while I was sitting there so I actually never saw the vial.
I might be taking saline. At any rate I can't change any doses this time around.
I started last Wed and rather than going W to W I took them over the weekend as well and will do M-F from now until I'm out. So 8 doses in and I really don't think I notice any difference.

It should do the trick. To try it out I decided to run 400mcg of each every other day.   The tendonitis in my elbow is absolutely subsiding after months of problems. Even on this 'low' dose injecting into the belly fat its doing the trick for me. In retrospect if I need to run it again I'll run 500 every other day.  I just like starting with a lower dose and seeing how it works. I was originally planning on doing every day but a buddy of mine told me he did every other and it still worked. For major issues I might consider every single day.

It feels like things are at the point that I'm stalling out and the old tendons aren't working as well so BPC seems like a good starting point. Is it oral or injectable?

I tried orals first and they did not work for me. 0 affect. Injectable's worked even at a low dose and every other day frequency.

I got my injectables for Purerawz. I'd buy from them again.

First shot of Sermorelin last night. I slept like a rock…it’s been a while since I’ve been able to sleep like that. Did wake up with a funny taste in my mouth. Night 2 tonight. Let’s see how it goes.

You mind sharing with the class the likely 3 or 4 letter name of that source?
Good experience for you?

Have you read any of Dan John's books?

He has a lot of great info for old guys and how they should approach training.

He's well known for getting athletes through flat spots too, his stuff just works.

He does specialize in strength training, especially for throwing athletes and football players, so bodybuilding isn't really in his wheelhouse if that's what you're after.

Thank you. I’ll look him up.  I’m definitely a functional strength guy, not the bodybuilding type.

This one is a good place to start.

He touches on a little programming, but it's mostly a collection of essays about his philosophy and his methods. I use the principles a lot.

One of them (out of many) is that when life is hectic, workouts should be simple and boring, and when life is boring, workouts should be hectic.

The other is just punching the clock. Only a few workouts are going to be truly great, the rest are just punching the clock and getting the work done.

Interesting. The forward is done by Pavel Tsatsouline. I just listened to him on Huberman. Great insights.

eta: Is Dan John the guy who says 80% of your workouts will be just ok, 10% will be good, 5-10% will be great, and 1% will be your best performance? If so, I think I listened to a great podcast with him.

It's the fucking best when I'm willing to put on weight and I have back to back to back epic workouts.

It pretty much only happens when I say "fuck it, I'm eating big and hitting some PRs." and even then it's only a window within that period of weight gain.

This one is a collaboration between the two of them.

It focuses more on programming and the hows and whys.

It's a bit of a wordy read as they both have a tendency to ramble in both speech and text, but still worth reading.

Two month update.

I’ve dropped about 8lbs while increasing strength (reps and weight).

However…

I have also altered my routines, diet, and calorie output, so I can’t attribute the progress directly to the Sermorelin. Using it did help me focus on other performance improvements by trying to get the most out of my three month prescription.

I went Keto a few weeks ago and started seeing the most improvements. More defined abs is how I am monitoring belly fat loss.

I also did about a month of BPC157 and TB500. This combo seems like a wonder drug. It eliminated the tendinitis in my elbow and some other joint issues.

I’ll be happy at 200lbs while still making strength gains. I’m at 208 now.

I'm having issues with what I believe is tendonitis in my right elbow.

I really want to try the bpc157.

At my trt clinic it's stupid expensive though. Going to check around.

Just checked with my clinic. The TB500 BPC157 stack, is 450 dollars a vial. Damn. That is one months supply, she suggested doing it for 3 months.

Lol that's nuts

ETA, just checked the email again. 450 is 20 days not a month.
