Is she into fantasy? I can highly recommend this one. The hero is the big sister. Pans Labyrinth It is in Italian with sub titles. The problem with this movie is once she watches it most if these others will seem... Less good. It is rated R for disturbing images. There is War level violence. No nudity and I can hardly remember any language. You may want to pre screen it. One of the best movies ever made in my mimd. |

Halloween Compared to the stuff released today, it's very tame. There is some frontal nudity (boobs only) in it, so FYI on that. But it's very brief so cover the kid's eyes for the three seconds and move on. ETA - I don't think there is even blood in it when Michael Myers stabs people because they didn't have the budget for it. So yea, an absolute classic that I watch every October but not bad at all... especially by today's standards. There are a lot of horror movies on TV this time of year. You can record them and watch them later; don't think TV allows nudity so there's that. |

Just for the fun of it, do a few of the old time 1950's black and white horror movies. They were really scary when I watched them as a ten year old back then. Today they are almost campy, funny. The Fly The Thing The Blob The Shrinking Man Rodan Creature From Under the Sea etc. |

Basically an girl has a tragic life event happen that results in her about-to-dump-her boyfriend not dumping her, and she joins him and his friends on a visit to a friend's family in Europe. This friend grew up in a commune which eventually becomes clear is more of a cult than a commune. Cult needs new blood to limit inbreeding, and also needs to keep its secrets. Cult also has a bunch of fucked up traditions. |

From the dialog and the narrator's description, we formed mental pictures of the settings and the action, which to us, were better than what Hollywood could produce. |

Also Alfred Hitchcock movies like psycho and rear window. IMDB has a parental guide that will tell you how much nudity, swearing and violence are in a movie. |

Without knowing your daughter the 2 that come to mind are the original night of the living dead and lost boys. Van helsing is great, sleep hollow. The village. When she’s older the whole Troma series. I like geeky horror. Friday the 13th, nightmare on elm street, toxic avenger(lol). Stupid shit. I avoid the newer hardcore shit. That stuff will mess you up.
