Printed a 5.56 linker for making ammo belts. Problem is the friction is pretty stout. Repetition of moment isn't helping either. Need to find a lube that gets along with PETG, not only to adhere and stay put but also so it doesn't mess with the structural integrity of the plastic. I have chain lube for my klx300, white lithium, marine grease, general grease, mobile 1, wd40, etc. What's good to use on PETG? Thanks!  Attached File |

Technically almost anything will work from a PETG POV. PETG is resistant to nearly every solvent that would be used in lubes. Only acetone, MEK, Toluene, and mineral spirits are off limits and even then some of those take awhile to break it down. That said PETG is naturally sticky and not best for something like this. ABS is much more slippery and would allow less friction naturally. That said I'd look at a dry Teflon spray lube. |
