Old picture. Steel. A somewhat unusual bike, in that it's factory Bianchi, but used Shimano (ultegra) components instead of Campy. I still ride it.

I can't post about bikes according to the top 10% rider in the world in the other current thread. My wife's bike:  Ooooh, look at those handlebars .... They're soooo messed up. And a comfort seat, OMG! (There are different bars, fenders, and a rack installed now. Works great for her.) |

I just trail run though, and honestly I don't encounter them too much anymore because I run in the evenings. |

@ascent throwing down some whips eh? noice.....i dream of one day being a competent whipper. tagging to hear about gravel bikes. i only mtn bike now but recognize i'm getting older and my days of mobbing downhill lines are numbered. tons of gravel options in my neck of the woods. *edited to add ascent since i was trying to reply to that og post |

I need a new mountain bike (mine is 25 years old and rusty). Spring is approaching. There are forest preserves with some great trails not far from me. I'm 6'3" if height is of relevance. I don't have the money for a bike that cost many thousands. A nice used bike under a grand is preferred. What are some manufacturer names and specs I should look for? Thanks. |
