The right talks a lot, too much, about having training and equipment, but the left isn't encumbered by a sense of morality, and it makes them far, far more dangerous than most give them credit for. Charlie Kirk's assassination by some furry obsessed faggot is probably the most obvious example, but the assassination of the health insurance guy as well as others are also examples of what happens when you have people who don't see the people they've been told to hate as human. You can't go around in condition red every time you're out, and there are thousands of people just like that woman, people who hate you enough to kill you just because you don't agree with their whacked ideas on everything. They don't think logically, they react emotionally. The consequences of their actions mean little to them, they rarely seem to consider them, whereas a rational person knows and understands the effects of what they say, committing crimes or even getting arrested and what that means for their future, never mind the moral and spiritual considerations of violating societal and religious norms.

Big new story re LA’s rapid descent to full on communism. Meet James T. Butts Jr., mayor of formerly ghetto Inglewood, CA, which used to have one of the highest murder rates in the country. Back in 2015, Inglewood made a deal with sports magnate Stan Kroenke to become the home of SoFi stadium and the new LA Rams. As part of the deal, Kroenke’s companies would pay about $400 million upfront solely for infrastructure projects on behalf of Inglewood, which Inglewood would pay back as city incomes drastically increased after the opening of SoFi. SoFi quickly became not just the best new stadium in the NFL, but is arguably the best new stadium in the world. It hosted one Super Bowl already, and is hosting another in 2027, because it’s viewed as a national gem. It’s set to be the main fixture of the 2028 Olympics. It also completely changed the face of Inglewood, which is now a genuinely up and coming area, the first one ever in what used to be called “South central,” the vast flat ghetto of the Southland. Inglewood is now clean, beautifying, and filled with construction projects; a genuine and overwhelming success. So now it is now time for Inglewood and Mayor Butts to pay the piper. They have to pay back the loaned infrastructure money to Kroenke’s companies. But guess what. They don’t have it! The new city income flooded in exactly as expected, but Inglewood didn’t save the funds meant to go back to Kroenke. So instead, the City of Inglewood sued to invalidate the deal, putting the entire project and all its progress, and the 2028 Olympics, at risk. And sure enough, since “disenfranchised” cities like Inglewood can’t be expected to honor their contracts, a presumably liberal judge just let them out of the deal, finding the original agreement predatory and invalid. So now Kroenke is left holding the $400 million bag, after literally changing the destiny of Inglewood and LA at large. But Butts says he’s “willing to negotiate as partners.” No good deed unpunished. Pure third world.

Ok, fine. I’ll weigh in. 1. The Equal Time statute doesn’t apply to GameDay for several reasons. For one, when it passed the statute, Congress applied it to broadcast tv stations—not cable programs like GameDay. For another, Congress stated that the statute only applies to legally qualified candidates. The Senator is not one. 2. The Equal Time statute does not prohibit anyone from interviewing anyone on broadcast tv. It is about more speech, not less. Congress wanted to ensure that voters would decide elections, not media gatekeepers picking winners and losers by providing preferential airtime to some candidates and not others. Indeed, when the statute applies, it simply requires broadcast stations to offer comparable time and placement. And comparable does not necessarily mean an interview by the same person on the same program either. 3. This ties back to Talarico. He’s just running the same hoax he did a few months ago on Colbert for the purpose of getting clicks and donations—he’s banking on people not understanding the statute or operating as partisan lemmings. 4. More broadly, though, at least some people appear to take issue with a cable program choosing to interview one government official and not others. To the extent they’re pushing for greater balance in media, that might be a good thing. But to bring this back to the law, cable shows are different than broadcast programs. Broadcasters are unique. The FCC gave them free licenses worth many billions of dollars to use a public resource (spectrum). They are given a government sanctioned monopoly on their broadcast frequencies, too. If anyone else wants to use that same public resource (spectrum) for the purpose of expressing their own views, the government will not let them—it will eject anyone else that tries to use a broadcaster’s licensed spectrum. This means that Americans are subsidizing the distribution of broadcast programs over a public resource to the tune of many billions of dollars. We don’t do that with cable or anything else. In exchange for that free and exclusive right to use spectrum, broadcasters made a deal with the American people. They agreed to operate, not in their own narrow interests, but in the public interest. There are various rules and policies that they must follow. This sets them apart from newspapers and cable shows and podcasts. But some broadcasters want to break their deal with the American people. They want to keep their free access to billions of dollars worth of spectrum, of course. They are less eager these days to abide by their public interest obligations. Yet the Supreme Court has already ruled that holding broadcasters to their public interest obligations is not censorship or any sort of 1A violation. And Congress has charged the FCC with ensuring that broadcasters meet those public interest obligations, as required by their licenses. The agency should do so.

Like this: Juror: "When [Reddington] reached over and grabbed her hand, I think we all kind of fell apart." Juror: "He rubbed her back a lot." O'Connell follow up: "Who was your least favorite expert witness?" This was the kind of super hard-hitting journalisming NBC Boston conducted into the media darlings who think and vote the way they're supposed to. Step out of line, however, and you'll get investigated, smeared and used an example for others should they do the same.

A surrogate, believing she was carrying a child for a single father, is actually having a baby for a Chinese billionaire who allegedly has more than 100 kids. CBS News broke the news to her. Leaked documents obtained by CBS News named the intended father as Xu Bo, a Chinese billionaire and video game executive. Xu Bo has been reported to have over 100 children through U.S. surrogates, granting them American citizenship at birth. A former partner involved in a custody lawsuit against Xu Bo claims he has as many as 300 children. He has disputed these numbers, and has said in a statement that he has custody of 12 children born through surrogacy in the U.S. CBS News' @KatrinaSari interviewed the surrogate – who we are referring to as "Judy" to keep her identity private – who said she was blindsided to learn about Xu Bo. A Massachusetts family says the state took custody of their teenage daughter after they refused to affirm her as a boy, citing their Catholic faith. The parents allege a school counselor socially transitioned their daughter without their knowledge, then reported them to the Department of Children and Families. Now the state has guardianship, and a restraining order prevents the teen's parents and older brother from contacting her. A judge has temporarily blocked the state from administering high-dose testosterone as the family fights the case. The next court hearing is set for Oct. 29.
