Sad to see Larson run out of gas half way through the last lap, but at least he avoided Bubba wrecking him after bumping him to the front . I figure that was exactly what was on Bubba's mind. Either way, that race was not boring at all.

How do you go from possibly being in line for the 48 to end up driving the 7 for Spire?  https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nascar/daniel-suarez-signs-spire-2026 Cory LaJoy says Spire is a trainwreck, but then maybe he has a right to be bitter. From the comments we have heard about the 7 and Spire during Radioactive this year, I wonder how the other drivers feel about this. Putting a hothead in inferior equipment does not feel like a good idea. |

Best part of the race was when they went side-by-side for the Toyota ad featuring JGR#11 at the exact moment Hamlin smoked his engine. Three fragged TRD engines in this race. I noticed Bell's pace degraded after that. I wonder if they were told not to downshift as much to reduce engine speeds. |

On one hand, it would be disheartening to endure a 36-race season only for a driver to secure the championship prematurely perhaps after accumulating six or more wins and numerous top-five finishes leaving the title decided with 10 races remaining. This is one reason I find Formula One less appealing. That said, I believe a hybrid approach could strike a better balance. For instance, consider a 12-race playoff structure with points resets at the nine- and five-race marks. The final four races could then be awarded to the playoff-eligible driver with the highest points total. To emphasize consistency, the first and second rounds could be determined solely by points accumulation, without the "win-and-you're-in" provision. NASCAR could retain the "win-and-you're-in" rule for qualifying the initial 16 playoff drivers, but transition to a pure points-based competition for the subsequent three rounds among those contenders. At the very least, tomorrow's Cup Series finale features drivers who have all earned their spots through strong, deserving performances. |
