According to a Jackson County grand jury report and a statement from McIlrath, officials said the three boys who went with Wells on a boat to Horn Island on July 4 didn’t do anything to warrant charges. Myers said in a video statement that there is no evidence to suggest Wells’ disappearance and death were racially motivated. Wells was black and his friends were white. They returned home, but Wells did not. The report said that Wells wasn't in a fight or an argument with his friends. Wells reportedly stayed on the island while his friends left with the boat. The report said that the position, condition, time of discovery and location of Wells' body was found to be consistent with drowning. Read it close. They didn't find anyone innocent but rather, said there's currently no one to indict. They also said the cause of death was undetermined and reserved the right for future Grand Jury proceedings if new evidence comes out. This doesn't mean the Ben Crump saga is over. Far from it because this will just fuel his ability to keep spouting off and making a spectacle. This is a temporary win. I'm more interested in where the supposed missing tissue is at. DA says body was turned over to family with all organs and Crump's people say they are missing lungs, neck, stomach or portions of each. Hard to tell but this is absolute. Either ME lied, body was compromised between ME and private autopsy or private ME is lying. |

I got separated from friends at a wedding and was completely sh*tfaced. I decided that I could just walk back to my car....which was probalby 5 or 6 miles away. I finally stopped at fire station and got someone to call me a cab. Would it have been the fault of my friends if I had fallen into the intercoastal or been hit by my car.? Did Nolan's friends do anything wrong - no. The real question is what happened to Nolan after his friends left. Did someone tell him they would give him a ride back, but when Nolan tried to swim out to that boat they left him in the water to drown? Did Nolan NOT get a ride from anyone, but tried to swim back to the mainland from the island? The mystery is why did Nolan end up in the water to drown, and I strongly suspect there are kids that were interviewed who lied and said they never met Nolan on the island when they did, but don't want to be "involved" in the investigation so lied. Not that these kids did anything wrong to lie about, but Nolan was on the island without a way back to the mainland and he had to have been asking people for a ride and the investigation is now at a dead end because of those lies. |

Surprised they could find somewhere to park the busses. My wife's boss' son used to work at Crawfish House across from the Y and I frequented Government Street Grocery and Phonecians before they moved. |
