My girlfriend is dealing with a family situation that is complex and involves physical/sexual/emotional abuse of minors. She is trying to figure out the right way to handle things and I'm helping her through it, but we feel like we've exhausted our options and could use some advice. Anybody here with family law experience that can DM me and I'll give a rundown of the situation? It would be massively appreciated. |

You're in FL, my advice is find a lawyer in FL not tomorrow or next week but today. Depending on what you two do for a living you may be legally obligated to report abuse but again you need to find someone in FL. Even if you aren't I would highly suggest seeking representation and let the lawyer handle the reporting. I don't envy the two of you. Prayers for a positive outcome. |

We currently have the word of one teenage girl vs the abuser, his wife, and 5 other children. We had the girl to the point she was willing to talk to someone, and now it looks like she is too scared to do it because she's been convinced that her life will only get worse if she does. We are worried about what the abuser is capable of when he's confronted so we need to drop a legal nuke on him without warning, not a situation where the cops show up and he convinces them, along with the rest of the brainwashed family members, that she's just an angry lying teenager. |

Child abuse creates a chain of adults that were abused as kids that keep abusing children. Break the damn chain! As difficult as it is, children that report their abusers can end this cycle of hell. Children that were abused that speak up and seek help save lives. |
