Fan has a 2.1mm male connector on the end. I found a 12v/48w computer power supply that I thought would work. Hooked them together with a male to male adapter and got nothing. Any reason why that did not work? I did hook it direct to a car battery and the fan worked fine. Trailer/camper has electric hook-up so it be running off an AC power supply. I'm not comprehending why the power supply did not work. I'm not sure exactly what model fan I have but looks like the most it should be is 25w so a 4 amp power supply should work fine. |

Computer power supplies tend to have power on checks that don't energize parts until the motherboard switch tells them to. It's not a matter of connecting it, turning the switch and getting power out of the leads. Look up the specs of your computer power supply and get into the power on sequence to determine if it should work or not. Many of them won't do what you are planning without the standby loop part of it. |
