| My son did basic and AIT in the Army at Fort Benning and went 6 years in the NG as an E4. He was out and working in the private sector when he met his future wife who was an E4 in the Navy Reserve. He decided to go in the Navy Reserve with her and after his C school, both would enlist full time. It's been 11 months now and they still haven't issued him uniforms - they blame it on budget / supply. He finally had enough and talked to the Marine recruiter who is taking care of the paperwork for his transfer. The only downside is he will go from E4 to E2 while in boot camp. |

What happened to getting paid/uniform allotment and going to the uniform shop and buying your uniforms? |

If he thinks going from Army to USMC will improve how he’s treated, he’s in for a rude surprise. Ask me how I know. (Wasn’t in the Army but they can’t possibly be worse than The Suck.) |

So they are both going to full active duty? I wish him the very best with that arrangement. I don’t blame him for being discouraged from NG to USNR. God bless him and his future. He will certainly get his issue as a USMC boot! Hopefully he will like the order and military bearing, as he will get plenty of that as well. Hopefully he will thrive. What is his MOS? |
