I like the 165's! I'm more of a spinner than a torquer, and can feel the difference in just that little bit of pedaling circle change. The SLX cranks also feel lighter than Deore. They'll get lighter yet when the deore chainring (which I used to save some money) gets replaced with an SLX ring. I'm just under 6' tall with a 33" inseam, if anyone is curious. What length are you running, and why? |

| My bikes have always come with 175s and I've never thought much on changing. I'm 6'0" but frankly my body proportions are goofy as I have a torso like ngth of someone a few inches taller and the legs of someone a few inches shorter. Makes it tough to get sized for bikes, and shirts. I'm rocking a 32" inseam. I'm equally happy spinning or torqing, but my natural cadence is somewhere around 83, but the peloton instructors make me spin up to 110 regularly and that doesn't bother me. |

I'm pretty sure my MTB has 175's. That works for me on the MTB. Back when I raced I used 165's on my track bike for clearance and it seemed like I could spin them faster., eventually I gravitated to 175's on both my MTB and road bike. I am 6 ft, and have fairly long legs. Back then I was extraordinarily strong and could apply immense torque. |
I know I'll never go home.

My trail and enduro bikes I have 165mm. I rather gain crank arm clearance on rocks and have my feet closer together when jumping for stability. EMTB I have 160mm because spinning is what gives you power. You have to spin way more but at an easier amount of force when pedaling. I’m also 6’1” with a 32” inseam. |
