Yeah, he has like 615 subs but the vid doesn't seem clickbait-ish after watching it. German LP Standard buyer gets a guitar from Gibson Garage Europe that sealed by Gibson QC, which means it left Nashville's QC then got QC in Europe and issues all over the place, damage, playability, F&F, and dirty. Not even playable out of the box. I'm a vintage Gibson owner and would love for them to succeed but I'll stick with the $400 Indonesian guitars until they figure out how build guitars again. 6 Gibsons later This is the WORST guitar Ive ever seen Part2 |

Exactly. The newer Gibson acoustics I’ve played are just awful compared to anything but maybe Fender acoustics at 20xs the price. One of my friends sent his J45 back. I’ve owned Epiphones that were better. They are somewhat local to me and I would also like them to return to glory days. Until then I will keep looking and hoping I can afford a not thrashed one from the 60’s. |

| Friend of mine bough a Custom Shop chambered R-8 new in 2024, finish issues, the binding was sloppy, etc. He sent it back to Gibson and they semi fixed some of it. Did nothing to the binding because they weren't willing to refinish it. My 2014 R8 doesn't have any of these QC issues. |

I obviously don't have access to their market research, but my guess is private equity, who don't care about things long term but only want to siphon and dump, know that they can sell this slop to boomers and some older GenX who are basically gonna hang it on the wall of a man cave and rarely even play it. I know of so few artists that actually play new Gibsons and most of them are actually Epiphones. Heritage has made a terrible mistake (I think) with their Ascent series, diluting their brand by not just naming it something else (like Epiphone v. Gibson), but they are making nicer guitars, on a smaller scale, for 1/2-2/3 the price of Gibson. One of these days I'm still going to have Heritage make me a copy of my Les Paul, since they will probably be 1/3 the price of the Gibson Custom Shop. |

I have played a lot of Les Pauls. I kept only two, a 80s wine red custom and my newer repaired super deal wine red Supreme. The Supreme has a sanded neck finished with tung oil and a headstock repair from a stand that got knocked over. Previous owner. I got it for a deal and it sounds great and the repair is over 10 years old with no issues. I passed on a LP Elegant in the early 90s. It was Firemist with the abalone blocks. I didn't have that kind of money. I played it for two hours at the shop and it was the best I have seen. I should have put it on the credit card and suffered. It was in Western New York and I was passing through. I regret that loss for sure. Most LesPauls are not what you expect. I love a good one but have two Carvins that play great. Different, but sound really good. Playability is "better" but not as comfortable as a Gibson. I love my LPs, but, FU Gibson and all the junk I played until I found something that sounded like an instrument that would age well. |
