What is going on with my MinisForum MS-A1? It has been working fine but two times now I have noticed that it has lost its network connection. Ubuntu 24.04. I did search but all of the "fixes" required a network connection. My previous "fix" did not fix it this time. Should I reinstall Ubuntu? ETA: I can SSH into it but it has no internet access ETA2: Its working again, no idea how or why. |

What is it connected to? What is it doing? Going idle or running hard streaming movies? Does it come back up after reboot? Anything else make it come back up? Is it getting warm? Mini computers might not have the best airflow or cooling and likely compromised on engineering during the "make it smaller" process. |

You can SSH to it when it doesn't have a network connection? I'm not following... Maybe you're actually having DNS issues? Can the device ping other local devices when there's "no network connection?" Are you only losing Internet access? Sounds like you're using Unifi, does the device show in the Unifi topology? Any VLAN stuff going on? I use VLANs to partition up my home network and it's a gold mine for issues like this if you don't pay attention to every little detail. |

"It shows on on my UI topology with same IP address (fixed) when it was working." Any VLAN stuff going on? Is a default gateway set? Can you ssh to it, do a “sudo ip route” and post the result? Being able to connect to it on the local network but having it be unable to connect out sounds like a routing issue on the machine or upstream. Can you ping your router with a ping -c 10 (router ip address) |
