| Are these combo units any good? There is a Grizzly one coming up at a local farm auction and I thought if the price goes right would it be worth having just to do little gun smithing stuff and build a few parts kits? Looking for input on anyone who has one of the units |
| I have a Grizzly G9729. The mill never gets used because I have a benchtop mini-mill and a Bridgeport Series 1. The lathe is great for the money as there's a LOT of room for such a cheap machine. It has always left me wanting something with more power, more rigidity and a gearbox. But if the price is right, it can be a very capable machine. |

I would tell you go to the auction, if it's cheap enough for you to add do it ,, it's a machine that beats a grinder any day. I had a HF 5980 & Grizzly G9729 before i used them to learn and expand in metal working, I've gone thru 5 lathes each time a setup |
