With heavy heart and sadness I need to report we lost Mauser1 last night. Many of us knew him real life as Jeff Chandler. He was a Life member and he loved this web site. He has been absent this last 1 1/2 to 2 years due to his illness. He has been battling terminal illness for about 2 years and he lost that gun battle last night. He died peacfully with his exwife and daughter at his bedside, he was not in any pain in the end. Everytime I last spoke to Mauser1 over this last year he always asked about arfcom and told me how much the site meant to him. I know he desperately missed the site during these last couple of years. He could be cantankerous and stubborn sometimes, but he was a really big hearted guy. He was known to call memebers up on the phone who were having hard times and giving comfort and ideas. Even in real life he would go out of his way to help a friend in any way he could. His jovial spirit and his passion for firearms was contiguous, he taught me a ton about wildcats and other firearm related stuff. Not only was he good to those around him, he was also a dag lover, he cared for his animals better than he cared for him self. He enjoyed photography, building computers and of course tinkering with guns and firearms. He played football for ASU when he was younger. He has left a exwife and a young teenaged daughter. I will miss our range trips and all his crazy ideas. He was a night owl like me so we would have conversations at 3 am about the wildest stuff, I really miss those. His kidness to me and my familey will never be forgotten. I have been truly blessed to meet Mauser1 through ARFCOM and get to know Jeff in real life. I will miss you buddy. I hope your journey to Valhalla is a good one. Attached File Attached File ****EDIT**** Since Jeffs illness was drawn out over the period of 2 years almost all his assets were sold off to pay for the medical bills that he was incuring. Because of this his ex-wife and daughter are having to bare the full brunt of the cost of cremation and service. Can we please help these two? I spoke to the wife and she is on day 2 trying to find a funaral home to take Jeff on to the next step. I decided to set up a go fund me page which I got permission from Striker this morning to link. I set up a bank account just for this and linked it to the go fund me page. Lets make these ladies christmas a little better in such a difficult time. The avarage cost for a cremation funeral is $2000.00- $4000.00 in Arizona. I put as a goal $2000.00 but I am sure the familey will be happy with anything. Please even if its only $10.00 it will help them and take a little of the stress off these two. It was nice, we got to meet some of his extended family. We shared memories and stories of Jeff. It was a nice remembrance of his life. Thanks everyone for all the great things that you have said and all the amazing contributions. Every word and every donation big or small was important and it made a big difference to that family. Some times a kind word means so much as it did in this case. Memory table with things that the family felt represented jeff and some of stuff the fily felt was important.

This is a copy of Jeffs recorded last heart beat. We lost a good one with this last contraction. Remember him and and his giving nature. You will be missed Jeff  I am going to shut down the memorial tonight. It was a great thing and I belive it has done what it was set out to do. I will ask this thread be moved to the memorial forum. Jeff was a good guy, and even when he was in the hospital he would find ways to entertain you. He had a ton of gun knowledge, more so then most people I Know. If asked him about any particular gum he would usually give me a 10 minute answer full of the things he remembered just off too of his head. He cared about this site and the people here a ton. HE bought my first membership, took me to the range a bunch of times,and was always there if you needed something. I saw him do the same for countless people. After he got sick he would sometimes call and sound like a million bucks, and tell me we were going shooting soon.
