| I got the ok to create a home gym setup, looking for recommendations on power racks. Basically looking to bench, squat, have a cable system, dips, on rack weight storage. Im not a power lifter, but looking to be able to work from home. Like accessories and aftermarket support and also a decent company to work with should a problem arise. Ive been pointed to Rep, titan and mikolo on amazon but would like to hear from others |

I've had a Titan T2 forever. If I was buying one today, I would get a Titan T3. Their X3 looks pretty rugged, but the posts are huge, so Rogue stuff probably wouldn't fit it if you wanted to buy accessories from them. |

I have Rogue (Monster Lite), but if I were buying today I'd look hard at REP. Probably 4-post in the PR-4000 range (3x3, 5/8" holes), and think hard about an Ares or Athena system for it. I don't think the 1" hole versions (PR-5000 at REP, Monster at Rogue) make a lot of sense, but I do think you want to stay at 3x3 for attachment versatility. That would be an X-3 at Titan (T-2 is 2x2, T-3 is 2x3, X-3 is 3x3). The 2x3 form factor is slowly dying, Rogue barely has any of their Infinity stuff left and I don't even think Rep has a 2x3 in their lineup anymore. 2x2 is more widely supported in the cheap stuff... but it's everyone's cheapest stuff, and 3rd party accessories are going to be either cheap chinese crap or of questionable use. If that's too rich for your blood (and it is a lot) then you can always go with the 'el cheapo Amazon do-everything rack. There's a lot of them, and most of them will be compatible with nothing else, but they will be cheaper. But my Advice is a 3x3 rack from Rep, Rogue, PRx, or Titan. I prefer the 5/8" holes, but there's nothing inherently wrong with 1" (though westside hole spacing is impossible with 1", if that matters to you). That'll be the ecosystem you'll want to roll with. Technically the 3x3 from Rep and Titan is 75mm (metric tubing) but it's so close that it's not a big deal. ETA: Sorry for the lack of anything approaching a coherent thought there.

I've got two in my shop that get used by 5 people. First one is a 20 year old cheap $200. The second is a $500 rig from Amazon that has a pulley attachment system. Both have worked great for many years. Have had guys squatting 500 pounds off the rack. And have a ton of attachments that are reasonably priced. My .02 cents .unless you really want to spend $5k there plenty of great affordable equipment out there for 1/4 the price. |

What are your size requirements? If you're putting it in a basement that will change your options. There's tons of good stuff out there now that has 3x3 with 1" holes which will basically make your rack universal to all other major company's racks. I've been on the researching journey for 6 months as I'm renovating my gym. I settled on The Blazzed HD2. I would have gone with a Rep Ares, but they don't have extended trolley arms yet and I believe the 80" I would have had to sit lower to the ground for the lat row. I probably would have dropped the dough if I could have fit the 93" rack in my basement. Maxum Fitness X line is a great deal. Fringe Sport Dane with Gibbon Arms. Mikolo Anubus 2.0. These are all in the same price range with the Anubus being cheapest. My rack has not come yet so I can't give you any reviews. The bottom line is buy something with 3x3 tube and 1" holes. Edit: All of the racks I mentioned include weight stacks. You didn't mention a price range. |

Why the T3 over the T2? It's a Rogue clone, so more accessories available, and the steel is supposed to be thicker. I was pretty broke when I bought the T2, and it's not a bad rack by any means, but for the less than $300 I paid at the time when it was on sale, it was a steal. I had to drill an additional hole in the bottom of each post too, as I couldn't get the safeties low enough for floor pressing. I also drilled holes in the bottom bars and bolted it to the floor. The T3 should come with feet ready to bolt down. |

| I not opposed to the buy once cry once, I live close to Rogue HQ too. My biggest 2 things that I would want would be on rack cable system with high and low pulley and weight storage. The monster light slinger doesnt have a low pulley from what I can tell.Space isnt a concern. |

The difference between the Rep Ares 2.0 and the Rogue FM Twin is that the Rogue has more space inside the rack and made in the USA. The space inside is negligible though and the Rogue is $1000 more. If you're not going to buy Rogue, you might as well look at other imported racks besides Rep. They are not the only game in town anymore for high quality imported functional trainer 3x3 racks. You could also just buy a bare Rogue rack and get a really good functional trainer separately for less money than the FM6 Twin since you said space is no issue. |

I recently upgraded from a Titan T2 knockoff to a Titan X3. It's so much nicer, sturdier, and fits tons of add ons. The lat pulldown/low row cable machine is fantastic, too. Attached File |

I looked and I can build what I want in the X3 for about half of a rogue or rep, and tge X3 is 3x3 with 5/8(ish) holes |

Another vote for Titan. I have a T-3 Space Saving rack because I have very limited space. Had it about 3 years now and I absolutely love it. If I had it to do over again I'd probably do the the same thing but get the X-3 just because. They are built like tanks and you're not going to get better for the price. Attached File |

I would like to upgrade to get the plate storage on the sides, but my spot is pretty tight. If we ever build another house my gym space is going to be like 20'x20' at least. |

I had a RML-390 but didnt like the fact you couldnt really expand it and rogues cable system is crazy expensive for what it really is |

How is the stability of the rack and bench on those foam tiles? I've been lifting on a custom platform for 10+ years. I have a new unassmbled rack that weights 1000lbs and higher quality tiles, but still a little squishy. I know the right thing to do, but I really don't want to build another platform. Just wondering if it bothers you. I'm sure the rack is fine, but what about benching heavy and squatting? |
|
I am so spoiled right now. The gym I go to has about 12 setups like this: 3-post 3" Hammer Strength Power Rack Olympic lifting platform 600 lbs of Hammer Strength bumper plates with steel cores Barbells with and without center knurling The lifting platforms are super nice but they are about 2k each, just for the platform! I've been lusting after a Rogue Monster setup for a long time, but the TITAN stuff looks decent at a much more affordable price. |

Rack needs a solid foundation and ideally should be bolted in at least 4 places. The racks we have in the basement gym aren't bolted and I can shift them with a heavy bar. |

I have a rack built on a platform already that I moved to my workplace. My new rack is 1100lbs without plates stored. Over 2klbs with plates. The problem is the tiles I installed are softer than people said they were. It's already done and looks awesome. I'm not cutting them out. I'll probably build another platform on top of the tiles, but I really dont want to. |

I just said fuck it and put my rack on the EVA tiles. They're firm for EVA, but not as firm as stall mats. I can do something different later if I don't like it. The rack doesn't move or shake at all currently. Crappy pic of my new rack without stacks and cables as of now... Attached File |
