I want a Mudman. Not sure which one. I want an ana-digital display. Looking to spend under $600. I prefer solar. I prefer atomic. I’m not hung up on either though. I really want analog though. Looking at the ggb-100. Anything else I should be looking at. Where is the best place to pick up a G-Shock Mudman? Jomashop has a few….. |

OP - Mudman is a good choice, I've bought all my Gshocks on Amazon. No problem returning it if it is an issue or you think it is fake. I've bought several from Amazon and they have all been great. Just check the sellers reviews even if it is prime. If you want to go slightly above your budget, this one would be my choice. Japan model, Master of G - probably the pinnacle of Mudmasters IMHO Will add to the post what I think is the best all around Gshock - GWM530A-1 - tough, atomic, solar (not analog though) - best for the price.

Is it set for overnight synch, like 0100? With ionosphere reflection, the Atomic Clock signal covers the country. Putting the watch near a west-facing windows helps.

My AWG-100 just keeps going and going. It is solar, analog, and atomic. My three must haves for a G-Shock. I think it is around 10 years old or older but still keeps great time. I live in South Dakota so it picks up the Colorado signal really good. I found a new AWG-100 in the EE a while back and am keeping it for when this one wears out but might be a while. It needs a replacement band and black rubber bezel which I found on Amazon so I'll be ordering them soon. I've worn Casio's all my life and this is my favorite one. Hope you find what you are looking for OP. Great watches and the prices can really pop on some of their high end models but I am not there so am content with what I have.

It does everything I need in a trekking watch. It also makes me realize how silly a trekking watch really is. The case is huge. That works for my 8” wrist. The only issue is that the “wings make it fit a smaller wrist better. Also, the strap is not super comfortable, but this is like most GShock. The functions are cool, but for most hiking, it feels like steps + compass + altimeter maybe would be more valuable. If you are a GShock user, the functions will be a bit hard to learn, but possible. Solar works well. Multiband 6 is marginal in central OH, but works in the window of my house or with the app. Compared to a traditional GShock, it is a level up in durability. It is made of harder materials.It will just take more abuse. It looks tough. Now that I have learned to use it and accept some of the struggle points, I have decided I really like it for hiking, adventure travel, etc. it makes a statement. It looks good. It is a super tool watch. That said, for working on cars, or manual labor, the GW6900 is a better choice. It’s a keeper! |
