Asking because I don't know how to shop these. Currently using a Dell laptop with a Dell 3100 dock for my work computer. I need to replace it with a docking station that will switch between my work and personal llaptops and 2 or 3 monitors. I've been looking and have found some on Amazon that have USB C connections for two laptops and some with powered USB C connections to power the laptops (preferred). I have found none with an audio output or an extra connection for a USB A camera. I need both because I'm frequently in work meetings or calls and need the external audio along with the camera. Any advice is appreciated. I'd like to spend no more than $200 or so. ETA: I'm currently using 3 HDMI monitors and a wireless keyboard and mouse combination. I do not use the laptop display. It sits out of the way. Additionally, my personal laptop isn't compatible with the Dell dock so I can't unplug from one laptop and switch to the other one. |

I bought an Anker 2 laptop KVM last year that is awesome, but it's not available anymore. It's the Anker 554 with PD to two laptops, only dual monitor though, plenty of other USB's. If you search 3 monitor kvm on amazon, you will get a slew of choices. |
| I haven’t ever seen one designed for two laptops. Your probably looking at using a kvm and dock but I doubt you would find a solution for $200 that actually works and unless you’re a techie type you will probably get frustrated trying to get it to work. |

Never seen one like you describe either. Most docks are brand and sometimes even model range specific. Even the ones that use a USB-C interface generally won't work with non-branded machines as far as I know. EDIT: I tried my thinkpad USB-C interface dock with a friends Dell laptop and it didn't work. This is going to be a crap shoot unless your personal and work laptops are same brand at very least. |
You need a KVM. I have this one  
and it connects to my work laptop with USB-C and to my personal desktop via display port. It has output for 3 monitors. If your laptops require docking stations instead of USB-C then you would just use two docking stations and connect them to the KVM. |
I just ordered this one. Hopefully it does the job. I am concerrned about how I'm going to get good audio, though.

Hopefully this gets audio out from the dock to my external speaker. The external speaker is a must. I'm in meetings pretty much daily and need the external. The laptop speakers don't cut it and none of my monitors have speakers. |

| Ah, understood. They never gave us the phone number for our Teams accounts. We all have work paid for cell phones but that Jabra puck deal has bluetooth as well so I can connect my phone to is. Good luck. Having a home computer system that is dedicated for work is essential to working from home. In the past I used remote desktop and my personal computer to remote in the laptop and when we changed VPN's and it no longer works which is why I had to go to this setup. |
| We have a Dialpad app with a corporate number. I only use it because it's on my email sig line and that's what a customer may call me on if they don't have my personal number. I do have to use it for official business to disseminate info that my employees are accountable for or a discipline or termination call where I need to keep the call transcript. Much nicer than having two phones. |
