ETA: OK, I don't *need another printer (but do want higher temps and enclosure), but for $50 one can get in line for an *up to* 50% discount, so the 4 head is about $1300 and I assume once up to regular price about $2600 or so. Knowing the vapor ware, delayed intros, and not always meeting goals in this industry. Would this be a 'I'm getting in on the ground floor of the greatest deal ever!', or 'Shit, either I forfeit $50 or buy a printer that doesn't do what they say, is full of bugs, and the discount is $25% not 50%'. I'm leaning toward the second one. What say you? @-Obsessed- brought it up in a thread the other day but I thought it could have it's own thread. Intro price for a $50 deposit is about $1k, supposedly about a 54% discount at full retail. Linear motors, large print bed, 4 heads, can print 4 items at once, different colors. Some of the details are murky, can I print 4 different items, can I print (4) 4 color items at the same time? Regardless, with 4 print heads there is literally 0 print head change time and very little waste (1 second tool change and wipe waste they say). Enclosed. 320c head temps. If it can be bought at that price it's a smoking deal, or is it vaporware? What's the consensus? |

Its not uncommon for linear motors to have accuracy of 1 micron and repeatability/precision of a fraction of a micron. No belts, gears, backlash, anything. Granted, pointless precision in FDM in my opinion. But the simplicity is nice regardless. |
