4.3.2 - Bench 5/3/1 day

Stretch, shoulder prehab, warm up

5 @ bar, bar, 95, 135, 140
3 @ 160
5 @ 180

Handful of doubles and singles @ 185

4x5 @ 155

Then a drop set, 4-12 reps per weight
@ 155, 145, 145, 115, 95, 65, bar

OHP 5x5 @ 95

Superset x 5:
Dumbbell rows 10-15 @ 70
Good mornings 8 @ 155

Dumbbell OHP 4 x fail @ 25
Capped the right arm at 10reps/set, failed the left one because the shoulder sucks

Dumbbell rows felt oddly good despite my shoulder sucking complete ass. Oh well, more rehab.

Did a bunch of various banded external rotations, etc, throughout the session.

About 16.2k steps so far today

Noice. And I’m with you on the elbow shits. My left one has been super achey lately, I think an extension of my shoulder issues. Even though yesterday was deathlift day, did some dumbbell rows and barbell OHP and it feels much better today. Not great but better.

Protein and creatine, mainly. Handful of vitamins, etc. and playing with l-citrulline daily but not sure if it’s really making a difference.

Volume is definitely where it’s at for me ight now. Max singles can get bent, ha. You’re definitely putting in work!

Finally got back to the gym for 4.4.1 - squat 5s day. Fairly quick one as I got to the gym late. Also first time back in Chucks in a few months - bought some new ones as my deadlift shoes are wearing out, so I figured I might as well break them in squatting instead of wearing my Oly shoes. Felt good man.

Quick stretch and warm up.

Squat:

This new program is pretty good so far, it's got me doing more warmup than I usually do and more accessory type stuff which is good...but I haven't been doing previously, so I'm soooore.
Today is 3 miles with armor, rifle, and belt followed by a circuit with heavy sand bag carries, step ups, and a couple things like that.
Last hard workout before the run and gun next Saturday, I'll taper just a bit from here on out.

Has anyone run one of these programs from infinite grit/ Jon Hamilton?

If you haven’t done them yet, you could try the dumbbell rolling triceps extensions, but they might be part of what flared my elbow pain up. Did a few sets today so we’ll see.

Failed a 485lbs deadlift last week...twice! Once raw and the other with wrist straps.  Now i'm wondering if the Reta and 30lbs of weight loss was worth it

And Hank...sidebar...but I just happened to log into my Paypal the other day, only to find it permanently deactivated for "violating user guidelines" even though I haven't used it for the better part of a decade.  I dug into the issue and it seems as Paypal is using AI to retroactively search through user activity and will flag unapproved purchases.  The only thing remotely I've bought with Paypal remotely no bueno would have been a Spearwolf Holster! . Oh well

BTW, I still use and love that Holster

You'll get back to where you were.  I lost 25lbs and felt the same way.  It took 6 months to get back to where I was as far as weights on the bar goes.  A nice gunt is a big advantage, but you'll figure out how to generate power without it.
