Do you sew?….your own clothes? Mend rents in garments, socks, shoes… Do you crochet? Knit sweaters? Make doilies? Anything? I have a hard time understanding knitting, however, I can crochet almost anything, embroidery, tatting, and mending by hand… …done a bit of bobbin lace….but that is extremely tedious and time consuming…did I mention tedious? A LOT of repetition and memory required to make a 10” band of lace…. I admire the old ways. Those Ladies rocked. I make tatted lace edgings for shirt collars, doilies, or just tatted bookmarks…my great Aunt taught me how to tat. Here’s a tatted book mark… Attached File And a set of 12, crocheted, 100% cotton coasters…4 of each, as a ‘baby shower’ gift. Attached File Note, the doily under the glass is a knitted doily! A gift from my SIL. It’s amazing work to know someone can knit and make it look like crochet!!!!! |

My wife, looking over my shoulder, asked me to say that she spins her own yarn and then knits things out of it. She spins wool and dog fur. Yes, dog fur. We have fuzzy dogs. She knitted me a hat made from Bearded Collie and Great Pyrenees undercoat to wear in Alaska. It was, and is, wonderful. The spinning wheel is in the background, but part of the yarn was spun using a drop spindle. |

I crochet. I stopped for a long time and started up again last year or so. I need to make it a priority |

Im more artsy, less crafty. I keep a sewing kit at work for when one of my boys pops a button or rips something, and I can mend my own clothes, but that's about it. I like decorating the workplace. At home i dont bother much. Its my cozy den and i dont usually like people in it (husband excluded) so its more practical. These days I mostly draw art for the stories I write.  |

I used to knit, then I moved to crochet and sometimes still do. I've been learning embroidery the last year and I have been quilting for 5 years now. Here's a quilt I did 100% of the embroidery and quilting on. Attached File |
