Psychosis Psychosis is an abnormal condition of the mind that results in difficulties determining what is real and what is not real. Symptoms may include delusions and hallucinations, among other features. Additional symptoms are incoherent speech and behavior that is inappropriate for a given situation. (Quote from Wikipedia.) Generally, when cops deal with nude people in public, they are dealing with someone having a psychotic episode. Frequently they are violent. Thank God my own incident was not violent. (Security officer working at a defense plant.) I got a call about a naked man running in and out the main gate. I arrive, he's running off down the street, outside the plant perimenter. Finally corner him (with 2 other security officers) at a major intersection. His words were well-spoken but his statements were wierd. "I was at a party and Cindy Crawford stole all my clothes." (He made that statement several times.) Plus a lot of other wierd stuff. Meanwhile the other 2 officers were laughing their asses off; I had to deal with him as he was on my beat and was the initial contact. Finally the PD arrives in blue gloves, carrying tasers. He says "Oh officer, I'm not dangerous, I'm not a threat at all, see?" He lifts his dick and- I am not joking- he has no balls, no scrotum, nothing. They finally got him wrapped up, and I gave them my boss' contact info for my written statement (which took about an hour to compile). To this day I entertain a fantasy of sending this story to Ms. Crawford... |

Got called to a bar fight but it was over by the time we got there. I was talking to the guy who was attacked by other guy and asking him if he was ok. The guy kept insisting he was fine. Normal scrapes, scuffs, cuts and contusions you see after a fight. He doesn't want any medical (very typical) and insists he's not hurt. I noticed his shirt was a little bloodier than it should be from his minor cuts so I pull it up and say to him "did you know you've been stabbed three...no...four times?". He didn't believe me until he looked down. Then and only then, did he decide the ambulance ride might be a good idea. Fortunately for him, the knife was a small pocket knife and the drunk who attacked him chose to stab him instead of cut him. The 3" blade punctured the abdomen but didn't do any major damage to the organs. |

Not a LEO, but my best friend is. I've lost track of the funny stories he's told over the past 25 years, such as: Drunk nurse pissing in the street thinking no one would see her and completely denying it even though it was on his dash cam. Pepper spraying a suspect in Home Depot and the spray got into the hvac system. Had to evacuate the whole store. Lots of people fucking in their cars, thinking they were in a dark secluded spot at the park and no one would notice. Young, rich college girl driving daddy's Mercedes ran a stop sign and t-boned his car. She gets out and starts yelling towards him that it was his fault. He gets out, dressed in his police uniform and she starts crying. I look forward to our monthly phone calls to chat about what's new in our lives. |
| Around 2014-15 I was a deputy in rural east Texas. Got a call from a woman who was going over a lake bridge, said she saw an old man jump off in an apparent attempt to commit suicide. We had several deputies and the game wardens in their boat out searching. I was walking along a shoreline when I heard splashing and plopping sounds in the water. About 75 yards away in the water I saw something. Couldn’t exactly tell what ( I have poor vision) but I noticed that it seemed to be keeping pace with me as I walked. At some points, the shoreline extended farther into the lake, so I figured I would be able to identify it. As I got closer, it moved further away, always keeping approximately the same distance. As best I could tell, it was maybe someone’s head and shoulders, but it moved too fluidly through the water, not in the bobbing, stroking manner people do. I called for the wardens, but by the time they arrived the thing was gone. Same general timeframe one night a woman called about someone screaming in the woods. While talking to her, I heard the scream and requested assistance. Another deputy arrived, we searched for 30 minutes and we’re about to give up, when we both heard it. Sounded like a woman screaming, “help” At this point the fire department arrived and we searched for hours, never found anything. Between 2012 and 2018, several times, I saw a flitting green light in the sky. The first time was 2013 at a lake around 11pm maybe. I looked up and saw it, I pointed it out to two other deputies. They seemed completely unconcerned and didn’t care about it. I saw it flit about for maybe 5 minutes, then it vanished. I saw 2 of them again while running at the local highschool track around 1 am with my best friend, also a deputy, maybe 2 years later. He saw them too and was just as bewildered as I. About 3 years later, on my way home from a new job at a local pd, I saw one again around 230am. The lights were about the same color as fireflies, but moved much faster and did not blink out. They were also larger, maybe the size of a baseball. They were always about 20 yards up in the sky. I don’t think they were drones, the first ones I saw were before drones were readily available and moved too rapidly. They flitted around like fairies out of some kind of Disney movie. I haven’t seen the lights since then, but I work day shift now |

Hmm where to start? How about most recently where I was told to go tow a car that got flooded out during a recent storm. I get to the place and don't see any vehicles in the parking lot. Spent 30 minutes making phone calls trying to double check the location. While on the phone and pacing the lot, I randomly grabbed a tree branch that was poking through a fence and moved it, revealing a huge 26 foot box truck down in the river that entire time they couldn't have given more info than a flooded car in a parking lot? ![]() It was then a 2 day operation trying to get the truck out due to private property issues and rich people with connections. The truck had traveled a quarter mile down stream and was in a really bad spot that required multiple cranes. |

Fire not LEO but had an odd one earlier this year. Pursuit, subject ducked off the highway into a park, rammed and stopped in parking lot, tased, dragged from vehicle-wearing body armor. It worked, it caught the taser darts. The thing about the armor was that it was home made form fitting leather and sheet metal laminated and riveted on top gladiator style. The helmet was a Bell 500 with chrome spikes covering every square inch. |

Roma. Freaking roma. Probably better known as gypsies, tinkers, pikeys, etc. Used to hit our area late springtime. We had (at one time) the world's biggest bowling alley, 116 lanes. One Saturday night, a bunch of cars pull up in front of the lanes and like 30 Roma go inside. One 50+ woman walks up in front of the main registers, hikes up her skirt and proceeds to urinate all over the floor. Pandemonium ensues! People screaming, employees rush to that counter, security goes running. And the other Roma spring into action stealing everything. I mean everything. Purses on the benches where people are bowling, anything left on the counters, and they had tin snips and cut the wires for the cash registers and stole them. Out the doors, into the waiting cars and a high speed cash to the turnpike. |

At some point you will make "friends" with a local schizo. By "friends" I mean they arent criminals and don't hurt anyone, and they're probably really cool with you just because you talk to them, but they're fucking nuts. Mostly they loiter or trespass, normally unintentionally, but people are afraid to confront them directly, which is understandable, even if they're pretty much harmless. Sometimes they're pretty sharp once the craziness is peeled back, or on a good day. One in particular can be having a full blown episode, telling me about all the supernatural shit he sees including the monsters walking down the road, but then break off mid sentence to ask me something totally mundane and normal. Dealing with that sort can suck, but they're people too... and some of the stuff they'll tell you and conversations you'll have are far beyond the most absurd tv show script you can imagine. |

Arrested a naked vagrant traveling from Arizona. Was working OT detail at Disney on Ice Finding Nemo. A bunch of moms come running over saying some dude is getting naked. I go to the upper level of the stadium, the crowd is clearing out. Guy is down to his tightie-whities. I yell at him to stop. Gets his clothes and I take him outside. All I really have is drunk in public. Magistrate asks him if there's anything he'd like to say. He responds if his ex-wife had tits like his, he'd have never left her. I raffed. |

| We dealt with a mental one night, off his meds. He lived with his grandmother and he had built an alter complete with candles and knives. He wanted to sacrifice grandma. Grandma did not wish to be sacrificed so she called. Hes naked. And screaming "this is the manic depressive cruifixion". We fight naked guy into handcuffs and take him to the hospital. He's still fighting when we got to the ER, and we had to drag him across the ER floor. Nurse wanted a urine sample from him, which he tried to drink. Doc gets him sedated and we leave. I still him shuffling around town. Looks like he is medicated out of his mind. |

Quoted: Had a crazy lady who was speaking to tongues in a church parking lot tell me the end was near once. Then she began shouting in tongues again and yelled my first name, which I did not tell her, nor was anywhere on my uniform. That sir is a tap on the shoulder from the good Lord. Crack that Bible if you haven’t. |

Quoted: Its never the people you wouldnt mind seeing naked. A friend of mine spent some years with a neighboring sheriffs depart that has some rough areas. He tells some crazy stories. But yeah, he always said it's never the ones you want to see. had a hilarious story about having to go to a local motel that was a hotbed for meth addicts and prostitutes. He said he walks by an open room and a women who was well known to them is masturbating with a large bottle with the door wide open. lol. |
| When I was on active duty I arrested a female sailor for drunk driving. Our breathalyzer in our security office was nonfunctional so we had to transport to Guam PD and use their breathalyzer to get a true blood alcohol content. So I tell this young lady that we have to transport her to Guam PD so that she can blow on their breathalyzer and her response to me was “I gotta blow who”. I I mediately called for a female officer to accompany us to Guam PD |

I was driving down a 2 lane country road around sunrise about 6:10 in the morning in mid summer. I was traveling around 60 mph in a 55 mph. Not many houses around and the ones that are are very spread out. In my rearview mirror I glanced a Caucasian boy of maybe 9 years old in a stripped yellow and darker stripe shirt run behind my cruiser pushing a bicycle with a banana seat. I did a 2 u turns and fired up my spot light and couldn’t find any trace of him. I even got out for a minute and yelled “hey kid you ok?” Nothing. No response. One of the old timers said a boy about that age was killed on that road riding a bike back in the early 80s. I searched some newspaper archives databases and the microfiche of the local newspaper in the library from 1980 to 1989 but couldn’t find anything about it. Whenever I am on that road I keep my eyes out for that kid. |

Quoted: Its never the people you wouldnt mind seeing naked. WRONG One of the most beautiful women I have ever seen was naked and I had to tie her down. ER Security in the Twin Cities, I get called to a room that was used for psyche patients. The Dr. was standing outside the room. I could hear a strange rhythmic squeaking noise coming from the room. The patient was also screaming, “I don’t want to be here, I don’t want to be here!” Matching the rhythmic squeaking. The Dr. was a cute female, about 4’10”. I am 6’2”. She was always a close talker and she walked up to me and looked straight up and said, “Clarinath, shut her up, tie her down but do whatever it takes to shut her up. If we need to sedate and incubate, let me know. Then she stormed off. God I loved that Doctor. So I decided to see what was up, no window on the door, so I just had to open it and hope for the best. I opened the door. There, jumping up and down on the shitty hospital bed, was an angel. A very loud angel, but a blonde angel. 5’10”, mid back length blonde hair, blue eyes, and a faint smirk/smile on her face. Easily a natural D cup, and a body that would make a man stop what he was doing and just admire it. Which is exactly what I did. I am a professional, but I was powerless. She was jumping up and down on the bed and EVERYTHING defied gravity. It was like she would pause at the top of her jump and her hair would swirl, things would hang suspended, and there was a strange bright light illuminating the whole scene. Then I got smacked in the back of my head. The Doc was back. She hit me! I am glad she did, I had to get back in the game. So I called for back up and when my partner arrived he had the same lost look on his face I am sure I had on mine. But it wasn’t a lost look. It was rapturous. I hit him in the back of his head. I had to, it was the only way. Guys, I’m telling you, this woman was stunningly beautiful. So I had to figure out how to take her down gently but firmly and get her tied to the bed. I looked to my partner and said, “Get ready, catch her legs.” When she jumped up in the air, I swept her legs to the foot of the bed and caught her shoulders as she fell. Easy peasey, I knocked her down and my partner grabbed her feet. But then she started fighting. Not mean, no nails or teeth, but she was like a wiggly puppy, all warm and happy, but I just couldn’t get her under control. I fought her for at least 5 minutes, and in the end I needed a fucking cigarette. WE finally got her tied to the bed, and this was back when leather restraints could be used. I fucking hate Posey restraints. It was something I hope I never forget. Every other time I had to fight a woman into compliance it was a nasty endeavor, but that one time… |

Been dealing with Florida Man and Florida Woman for 17 years now, but the weirdest one was pretty tame but made a big impact on me and my partner at the time. Little old lady who lives alone with her chihuahua calls to say that someone is in her house. It's on midnights and late as shit. Roll up and the house is in a quiet neighborhood and is probably only 1,000 square foot 2 bed/1bath. Little old lady greets us holding her little chihuahua in her arm like nothing in the world is wrong. She says something to the effect of "he keeps telling me someone is in my bedroom" but she is completely nonchalant about it and very sweet. I ask her who is telling her that and she looks down at the little dog and says he is. My partner and I both look at each other like she's either nuts or senile and proceed to "clear" the house. Nobody is in the house except us, NOBODY. We go back into the living room and I begin to tell the lady that everything is good, nobody is in the house, and BOOM, bedroom door slams shut so hard it shakes the windows. Little old lady calmly says, "See?" We go back and nothing. Windows are all secure and the doors are those flimsy hollow core doors that we couldn't even get to slam shut no matter how hard we tried. My partner was a big believer in the supernatural and was TFO. Personally I don't have a clue what was going on that night but I was never quick to be dismissive about odd claims after that. Never had anything like that since though. |

I wrote this down a while back and saved it to a text file. I was going to post it in the supernatural section, but every time I was about to, I felt stupid and held off. I still feel stupid, but fuck it. This has haunted me for several years. I never told anyone, because I know how stupid it sounds. I just need to get this out, though, so bear with me. When I graduated college, I had a job waiting for me as a police officer. When I went to the academy, along with learning the typical cop stuff like how to speed cuff, and the proper way to roll fingerprints, the instructors talked about "sixth sense". None of this was from any of the text books, it was all personal stories from the instructors who were all previous or current LEOs. They recommended always paying attention to that little voice in your head. There were a few times that "sixth sense" kicked in when I was working, most involved doors for some reason. For example, one night I drove by a business on the edge of town. As I drove by, I was looking at all of the windows and doors to make sure none were open. There was a door on the side of the building that employees used, and it was bright white. As I drove away, I remembered that door wasn't white, it was dark brown. I circled back and sure enough, the door was brown, not white. I tried the door and it was unlocked. Didn't find any signs of forced entry and didn't find anyone in the building. Like the old "trivial psychic" skit on Saturday Night Live with Christopher Walken, little things like that would happen, but they never amounted to anything. One night I was driving around checking businesses on the courthouse square. Most of the buildings on the square were built in the 1800s and had businesses on the ground floor with apartments/living space on the second floor. Most of the second stories were empty at the time because the majority of business owners didn't live above their shops anymore. The main entrances of the businesses faced the courthouse, and there would be doors for deliveries on the side streets or alleys. As I turned down one of the side streets, there was a door that caught my attention. I couldn't tell you why, I just knew something wasn't right. I tried the door, and it was unlocked. I knew it would be. I called for backup and while I waited, I assessed the situation. There were no signs of forced entry. The door opened to a staircase that went up to the second floor. The stairs really showed their age. They were all sagged in the middle, some were broken, and none of them looked like they could hold much weight. At the time, I weighed a lot less than I do now, so I wasn't too concerned. The officer who backed me up that night, however, was built like a linebacker. I told him to wait at the bottom of the stairs until I got to the top. I was pretty sure that both of us on the stairs at the same time would be too much. I kept my feet on the sides of the stairs on the way up. Not only did this keep my feet on the strongest part of the stairs, but this also minimizes squeaking that would alert any potential burglars/squatters/druggies that there was someone coming up the stairs. I tried to keep some weight off the stairs by holding the rails on both sides and keeping some of my weight on my arms. Because of this, I was not holding my gun or flashlight like I would normally do when checking a building. When I reached the top of the stairs, before I could tell the other officer to come up, I heard the THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP of feet running straight towards me. It was dark upstairs, but I could make out someone in a light gray hoodie and sweat pants running down the hall right at me. Their hood was up, so I couldn't see their face, just black shadow. I drew my gun, aimed center mass, and I remember shouting "MOTHER FUCKER!" as I lit them up with my flashlight. I felt like an idiot. The THUMP THUMP THUMP wasn't running feet, it was beating wings. The person in gray sweats wasn't a person, it was a flock of pigeons. Well fuck me. The pigeons flew around me, went up (there were high ceilings on the second floor) and flew back towards the rear of the upstairs. The other officer and I searched the upstairs and found nothing out of the ordinary. It looked like it used to be storage for the business downstairs, and there wasn't a whole lot up there at the time. I'm not sure where the pigeons went, because I didn't see them again. There must have been a hole or opening up high somewhere where they got in and out. We had our dispatcher call the business owner, who said they would check on it when they came to work in the morning. I didn't tell the other officer what I thought I had seen, I just told him the pigeons had surprised me. Nothing paranormal, just not seeing things correctly in the dark, right? I forgot all about that night until over a decade later when I saw a trailer for a video game that was coming out. The video game was called "The Secret World". When I saw the video, I went cold and every hair on my body stood on end. Even now, watching it again all these years later, it still freaks me out. The thing in the trailer is pretty close to what I saw that night, especially the way the person (or person shaped thing) broke into a flock of birds when hit with light. The only difference is what I saw that night was light, not dark. ![]() The Secret World Funcom Official HD Teaser Trailer #2 - The Puritan |

Someone I know was a security guard at the hospital this is his story. Nurses were being paged to an elderly woman's room repeatedly and the pager control was missing. Turns out the pager remote thingy was inside the elderly lady's uh, lady part. ![]() I didn't ask how they found it. |

Quoted: Was always amazed at how personal items grew legs inside the office/shared patrol car ![]() You could leave a stack of $100's on the briefing table for two weeks. When you come back there would be a note on it telling you to get your shit off the table. But leave a good pen, a pair of gloves, a set of handcuffs or handcuff key and the second you took your eyes off of it they would disappear. |

It struck us both as odd. No ticket... A game warden saw me coming out of the woods, and was asking if I had permission to hunt there. Well.....not really. I was a teenager, seemed like a good idea. Noticed he had same last name as mine. He explained his son had exact name as I. I had heard of his son. I felt relieved, sure I was gonna get a friendly warning. Nope. $275 fine. |

Whole building is huge..4, maybe 5 stories. Classrooms, offices, the big room, storage basements, you name it. With only 4 of us to clear it. So I deploy one guy to hold the primary exits, and the remaining three of us begin room clearing at gunpoint. For the better part of an hour. We went through *everything* that we could find, and got nothing. The three of us convene in a 3rd floor hallway, reholstering and turning lights off, and basically say "oh well, let's leave", when we suddenly hear a guy call out "Hey! Hey!" from what sounds like right next to us (watched bodycam later, and the voice was audible on cam, not a hallucination). Cue another half hour of ripping the rooms apart, climbing into the attic, inspecting dust marks, you name it. Got absolute shit nothing. Finally the commander pulls rank and declares that the church is haunted. And meant it. He refuses to stay there any longer than to say goodbye to the church ladies, then hauls ass. I told them that if they saw someone inside, to pepper spray em...if they scream, that means they're human and call 911. If they don't scream, it's a ghost, and please don't call 911.

I was on duty one evening and a local drunk stole a car from a bar parking lot right across the street from the SO/PD in small town Iowa. The dew point hit about 9:00 p.m. and every car that had been parked for more than an hour had frost on the windows. Mr. drunk took off with the stolen car and ran a stop sign as I was driving by west bound in my marked patrol car and hit my car right behind the right rear tire. I'm sure he ran the sign because he could not see it due to the frost on the windows. This all happened 1/2 block from the bar and SO/PD. I was spun partially around and Mr. drunk took off south bound right in front of the county Court House. I had to get straightened out before I could get in behind Mr. drunk. Keep in mind, not only was every window in town covered with frost so was every street. Our tires were spinning at 120 mph but our forward speed was probably closer to 10 or 15 mph. I was talking to the dispatcher the whole time after getting hit trying to get the guys out of the SO/PD and help me get this guy cornered somewhere on the west side of the downtown square. I think we made it a full twice around the west side of the square when Mr. drunk made the mistake of going down the alley between the buildings and one of the deputies came in from the other way, blocking him off. Mr. drunk quickly jumped out of the car and quickly said "I give up" and was raising his hands just as our 6'4" deputy pile drived him into the frost covered asphalt. Mr. drunk was dutifully handcuffed and was driven the 1 block back to the SO/PD where he was processed for OWI and then thrown into a drunk tank. After all of this excitement we all decided that it was time to go to the local Pizza Hut and get a sandwich. But, just before leaving the SO/PD our Chief Deputy heard water running. He went back and found that Mr. drunk had managed to kick some water lines and had broken them open causing water to run out and onto the floor of the drunk tank. The Chief was somewhat perturbed at all of this and roughly hand cuffed Mr. drunk and put leg irons on him, looping the leg iron's chain through his handcuffs. He was trussed up like a Christmas turkey and the Chief then says "let's go to supper". We dutifully followed him out the door and on to Pizza Hut for supper while Mr. drunk lounged on the steel drunk tank bed face down and crying "I'm sorry". The only ones to hear his cries was the 3 guys on the other side of the wall doing time for various and sundry crimes or waiting for trial. We came back about an hour later and Mr. Drunk was no longer near as frisky as he was before and was very apologetic about his behavior. It seems Mr. drunk had just committed his 3rd OWI and when he went to court the judge gave him 6 months in the pen for his societal pho pau. As it turned out, Mr. drunk was such a good customer of the bar, the owner of the car who was also the bar owner, refused to file on him for stealing his car. It seemed he left the keys in the car and didn't think anyone would ever steal it. |

Quoted: Hmm where to start? I had one of those. Idiots left keys in a grand Cherokee overnight. Call went out early the next morning that there was a car in Watertown’s Black River. Spring high water, dangerous as Hell. That river kills people. The Jeep made it about a mile out of the city ....in the river, it was bobbing on rocks in the white water, you know those nice four to five foot standing waves with rock strainers. No one knows if there is a body in it (vaguely think there was an association with a despondent dip wad thief in the city) so they get the special rescue people out there. They manage to get out there, no bodies. Getting it out of there? Ha would be a mean feat. The river is maybe 90 yards wide there and it is on the far side, closer to the 35 foot limestone cliffs, behind the cliffs is all woods. After a couple hours the FD hatches a plan to get a logger to cut a path to the cliff and they ripped it up the cliff with the skidder. Not much parted out on that Jeep! |

First week on the street I had to manhandle some herpes infested sweaty female crackhead with burn scars all over her body while my buddy got the fine naked titty dancer high on PCP running around the apt complex he had to tackle. Some days you're the bug, others...windshield. |
| Early 90's. Assigned to ghetto. Spent about 30 minutes inside a ghetto house with other officers on a domestic. Cleared the call. Walking to my cruiser when I got a crazy pain in my right ear. Held my head and screamed! Sergeant thought I was going crazy.?? Got driven to E.R. Doc looked in my ear, grabbed some tweezer looking thing. Pulled out a live cockroach! |

Quoted: Not an officer, but roughly 30 years ago I was pulled over for a traffic stop. The SPD officer who pulled me over had the EXACT same name as mine. First, middle, and last. It struck us both as odd. No ticket... Had a weird one like that. Cop stops the car and I am the backup. The driver has my same last name and we laugh. Third cop shows up. The passenger has the same last name as him and we laugh even more. Find out the car is stolen along with a ton of the victim's property was inside. The victim had the same last name as the cop that stopped the car. The DA said it was the weirdest name case he prosecuted. |
