Over one half million batteries are at risk of starting fires. Dont buy garbage. Pretty simple. Why people skimp on things that literally will burn your fucking house down is beyond me. Dont buy cheap tools. Dont buy cheap eBikes. Dont buy cheap automobile tires. The only words of wisdom my dad ever gave me. Buy the nicest tools you can afford. Makes the job much easier and will save you from the cheap "knuckle busters" as he called them. I think he was right. Milwaukee has been pretty solid for me. Shit on the price all you want but my original combo kit tools are all still functional and they are now 12 years old. And they still run circles performance-wise vs the cheapies. And the upcharge is modest in the grand scheme of things.

I have a pile of abused RC lipos. Those will start a fire before some cheap yard equipment does. That said, my kobalt stuff has been fine for years. I see little to no benefits from spending way more on a "name" brand when I can easily buy 2+ for the price of one "name" brand. If I use it enough to kill it I'll buy a better one to replace it. |
