So I have almost all of my home brew set up together and am going to be set up for kegging.  So I am going to build either a kegerator out of a full size fridge or a keezer out of a chest freezer.  Looking for pros and cons.  If I go kegerator I will only need the fridge and if I do a keezer I will need the wood for the collar and the temp controller etc.

Putting a half barrel or quarter barrel into a top opening keezer would suck.

I have never had one, but did have two half barrel beer kegerators and two converted refrigerators.  No downside, other than possibly cost.

If you want a new fridge in the kitchen, good excuse to move the old one into kegerator duty.

Went with the kegerator.  Less work involved overall and found on for free.
