We have had multiple cancelations for a variety of reasons. Hate to do it, but I'm going to cancel this rather than have just a few of us there. If there is interest, we can try again for another time. Sorry this one didn't pan out. ------------------------------- Who is ready to have some serious meat sweats in the KC area? I’m putting together a MEAT UP FOR LIBERTY dinner Sept 7th 5:30pm at Fogo de Chao Kansas City MO. I've been to Meat Ups in Dallas, DC, Virginia and Vegas so far. All have been fun and new friendships for me and for others have resulted. It’s been interesting to see both locals and folks from out of state connect IRL as well as on arfcom. Now, we need the midwest! Looking forward to meat sweats with all the Knights of Wonder existing and new, that evening. ALL YOU CAN EAT MEAT. FELLOWSHIP. LIKE MINDED PEOPLE getting together. I’m sure there will be talk of guns, politics, beans/no beans and probably at least 87 conversations about hunting and shooting. Please sign up by replying in this thread with 1 plate, or 2 plates, or 3 plates. We do have to reserve seats ahead of time and are held to that by the restaurant. I’m just arranging it, but have no financial interest. These are just good fun and way too much to eat. eta I'll keep the running tally updated here. If I miss you, then @ me and let me know. I will give them a call. For now, I will leave the official location at Fogo unless I update the thread on location. The Fogos I've been involved with are not always the absolute top food in the market, but have worked consistently for large groups. Fortunately, the food is not the primary draw for these Meat Ups. |
| Should have mentioned to @ your friends and countrymen to the thread. I'm also likely to bring a couple of very conservative relatives from the area who do not yet know the joys of arfcom. They need to learn the ways of "get both"! So, feel free to bring outside, like minded folks, but no glowies please. |
| I hosted one of these years ago at Em Chamas in NKC abt 15-16 20 years ago, and I think we had 10 or so people. They were running a special for 26.xx or so. Post this up in the Missouri forum, and you will get people to go. It’s a very strong group and we used to do Buffalo wild wings meet up once or twice a month, plus movie nights, etc.. |

The turnout has been amazing at these regional Meat Ups, with folks coming from all over the state and from out of state at the others. We'll have fun, whether it's 10 or 40. |

These are really just regional things so this is likely going to be your closest shot, but you could definitely put one together locally for St Louis. Come on out and join us if you can. Already know of at least 3 states that will be represented in addition to MO. Just talked to another member from the Dallas area who missed DC, but was at the VA Meat Up and like it enough that he and his wife may make the journey to KC for this one. |

Parma woods costs money and is supervised. There's unsupervised ranges at Pigeon Hill Conservation Area. It's an hour away but a LOT more laid back |

Great pic of your new shooter! Confirming we will end up using Fogo this time around. Complicating factors like deposits at the other restaurant. Should be reasonably tasty and still good camaraderie. OP has been updated with some additional headcount. Invite friends soon so we can finalize numbers with restaurant. |
