Springfield had (has?) California-certified 1911s because they use titanium firing pins; very light, light enough so they won’t overpower the firing pin spring during the drop test. And, Series 70 Colts distinctly means the Accurizer barrel and collet bushing for Colt. Those, and larger sights, were really the only appreciable changes between the standard GI 1911A1 and the “Series 70” as Colt marketed it when they started selling them. Sorry, but people calling standard GI fire control groups “Series 70” drives me fucking nuts. Series 70 denoted a barrel/bushing, not a fire control group. Especially when people refer to shit that isn’t even a Colt as “Series 70”. It’s like calling every revolver a Python, or every polymer gun a Glock 40. The only reason the misconception exists is because Series 80 introduces the trigger activated firing pin blocking plunger. As you said, Series 70 introduces the collet bushing, but a lot of people don’t know what that is and erroneously assume it simply means “no firing pin block.” To make matters more confusing, Colt also has labeled both the DA/SA Double Eagle and some SAO Defender models as “Series 90” and the reintroduced Series 70 has a solid bushing. |

Looks like a new modular striker gun called the P385 is debuting later… Sorry for FB video but it’s all we got for now Got to be a quiet admission of … something.

Here’s an article with some pics of the five launch guns. Looks nice, lower bore axis, uses 320 mags. https://www.rifleconfigurator.com/articles/sig-p385-duty-pistol How long until the 320 is department/mil-only?

And yet the m9 lasted nearly 40years and didn't end up shooting people in the leg. |

There are some smart design details here, too. This could be a really good gun. |

Official Sig announcement: https://www.sigsauer.com/blog/introducing-the-all-new-sig-sauer-p385 Attached File Official product page: https://www.sigsauer.com/firearms/pistols/p385.html Attached File I've always had a high degree of proficiency with Glocks and lately have become a convert for the Springfield/HSP Echelon, so this isn't for me. Plus I hate Sig's business practices. These look like a huge improvement on the 320 though. |

All while denying there was ever a problem. Fuck Sig. |

Sig could claim it was transitioning entirely to the 385 for ease of manufacturing and costs and will be discontinuing the 320 and no longer offering support or parts. Then offer the upgrade as part of the Infinite Guarantee, so some such other BS. |

They'll still have some level of production to address the .gov contract side of thing, and maybe some production for civilian market, mostly just to address states that have retarded shit like handgun rosters etc. (kind of like why glock kept the gen 3 around for so long until california made them illegal), but beyond that they'll just focus on pumping out p385's (assuming they remain scandal free). they'll also stop pushing the p320's for new gov contracts as they can just say the p385 is better, and as gov contracts for the 320 run out they'll just slowly phase out production. it'll probably be over the course of 5-10 years. |

2 local shops have 320's of different configurations on display. Each time I've been in each shop, I see someone doing a 4473 on one. They still sell. I have 3. One of them in a Flux Raider chassis. Love that set up. Especially now with a Banish 9k on it. |
I hated going to weddings. All the grandmas would poke me and say "You're next". They stopped that when I started doing it to them at funerals.
