Remember whether you are investing or trading, you are betting on opportunity cost of "is this going to be worth more than that" in whatever time horizon you are putting your funds at play. It seems like each decade had major big winners and then losers. Is Oil and Gas the next best thing for the future? Opportunity cost is certainly a driving force not emotion. Attached File |

While Trump is certainly pro-energy, he seems to want oil/gas as cheap as possible. Fracking isn't competitive when oil drops below ~$60. At some point there will be a reckoning - do we want $1.50/gal gas on imports, or do we want to be energy independent at $3/gal? |
Posterity! You will never know, how much it cost the present Generation, to preserve your Freedom! I hope you will make a good Use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven, that I ever took half the Pains to preserve it.---John Adams

Everyone is supposed to take a bite of the shit sandwich and pay higher prices to bring manufacturing back to America. However, it's unacceptable to pay actual E&P costs for fracking and oil sands production to keep energy jobs in America. I look at energy stocks for their dividends, not growth, although I'm happy to see growth when it happens. That applies to oil & gas as much as it does to utilities. I made some good investments when public sentiment was green, but now I'm more inclined to hold or sell for better opportunities if I see them. |

Nat gas and gas turbines are going to power AI in the short term. IMHO, There's just not enough base load available for that kind of rapid expansion. Microsoft is pretty much paying to bring back one of the old TMI reactors back online (or keep it from being retired, I can't remember which.) That's just my take ,YMMV. |

Not sure if oil and gas are the next big thing but I’m keeping a close eye on Venture Global / $VG. They’re down 13% after hours having lost a case in arbitration with BP. They have projects in the works that would allow them to overtake Cheniere in LNG production which should make them the #2 producer in the world. Curious what happens in the morning, this could be a good entry point but time will tell. |

Also holding NEXT, two gas stocks are enough for me. BOIL is good for a swing trade when ng prices jump up and down..Pro Shares leveraged ETF Bullx2 |

BP and a few others lend them money to build a LNG facility in exchange for future deliveries at X prices. They build the plant and start selling lng at spot to other buyers while BP et al are out buying at spot instead of at the contracted prices because “uh, but the plant isn’t “officially” open. Hurdur… BP awarded $1 billion in arbitration. Then again, as a shareholder, you might want a bunch of greedy unprincipled cunts working for you. Then again, if they’ll fuck BP et al, how will they treat you? lol |

Investing in energy stocks isn't for the faint of heart, or buy and hold types. I hold a bunch of AM stock and it's treated me well, but I bought most of it when it was below 13-14$. It's my #1 holding by a long shot. BUT now is not at a good entry point. I would advise against buying it today. I'll dump it in a heartbeat if it gets below $17. |
