Went and cooked for my parents.   Then me and my God Father made an inverted L antenna.  Kept my mind busy.

Some amazing people here in this community and while I hope I never have cause to avail myself of the help offered, it's pretty incredible to know it's there. Thank you all, really speaks volumes as to the caliber of individuals here that this thread was started at all and is still going.

I am leaving at 2 AM for court.  Accordinding to my lawyer the Ada wants me to plead guilty to some type assault.  Ain't happening.  Court is Thursday at 9 AM.  In Oklahoma you can not get a CCW for 3 years after an assault, and there's the nursing license issue.  Lawyer is to call me back soon.  He is working with her attorney and that Ada.

From reading your previous post, it looks like the alleged assault was against your wife?  If so, that's no firearms for life, much less CCW for 3 months.  DO NOT EVER PLEAD GUILTY/NO CONTEST/WHATEVER to any assault involving any person the law categorizes as a "domestic" relationship.  You will lose your gun rights.  Forever.  Since it's federal law, not even your state governor, nor any judge, can restore those rights.

From a former recruiter's standpoint with regards to entering the Army in the early 2000s, that was the same as guilty.

No clue on how it will show federal with regards to firearms, etc.

I know you're not out there trying to join the Army, just tossing that out there from previous experience.

Good luck and keep your head up either way.

Ask your attorney, but generally a diversion (in most  states) does not result in conviction, assuming the person goes through the prescribed period with no issues.  So should be GTG as far as firearms go.  That's usually the best result for a good person who get charged with a b.s. charge.  They almost never offer that to actual criminals.  Sounds like the ADA is giving you a break.

You are correct except the break.  I did nothing and was jailed for 3 days.  I was made to leave the jail in my bloody tshirt, boxers and bare foot.  The wife knew I called the cops and staged a great scene,  firearms are no problem except they took an expensive hand gun that was laying out holstered.  There was never accusations of firearm play, just took the fucker.  I imagine it will be a year to get it back.  That means driving 1600 miles. They wanted all guns.  I told them they were in safes and I would not open them.

Thanks everyone for the prayers, calls and offers.

Getting better every day.  I do have lows.  I want to thank again all who contacted me, offered so much an prayed for me.  I would also commend the veteran suicide hotline, they are great and a counselor will follow us Ricky tick.  The dark thoughts are gone but I am still grieving a cheating abusive wife.  Love is fucked up.  No doubt she was she was seeing others or infatuated.

There is no doubt I will never marry again as my 1st wife cheated when TDY.   I have thrown away every pic from 17 years that did not have my Son in them.  Well my bills are 400 or less per month now. Thanks again Ed.  I wanted for everyone to know that strangers on here wanted to send me money.  Wow, go Arfcom.

You don't owe anything to anybody here.  You owe your loved ones for loving you and wanting to see pictures of the family that you are yet to have.  It always grows.  and makes you set horrible things aside.

I like a drink too, but the rest of me feeds people that would not have it otherwise.   Doing that makes any person troubled feel better.
Even just a random offering.  A bag of dog or cat food to the local humane society or shelter...  Give $20 to a mom at Goodwill genuinely shopping for kids clothes.
Buy the enlisted folk in line behind you their dinner.

Giving something positive to someone deserving is always worthwhile, and they are always there.

So are you.

Meh, the wench kicked me out and took me off of the lease so now I'm back to living in my car. Guess I travel too much for work. Pretty much broke because I've made less than brilliant life decisions. But at least I'm in better physical shape than ever and also no bills and no debt. I've been through much worse. I learned to appreciate a long time ago the small things like a dry place to sleep and some food once in awhile.   When things are almost unbearable the Lord shows up and lends a hand. It's kind of amazing.

We have had attempts in the past.Thank God, both were dealt with successfully through the phone. One of them involved tc6969 on location. He (tc6969) helped with one case a few years back, so we have a reasonable model for action. If in FL, I am sure tc would get involved again to avert a tragedy like he did before

I'm a newer guy. But have a good ear, and can listen.
Retired, have time.
I too have fought the demons. Divorce...depression. Went for many a midnight walks in the woods with my 9mm.
Survived the good times waiting for the good times.
Cursory smiles "Yea, I'm fine" but can't wait to sit in the dark.
Family and friends know, yet no one says much.
Pm me if anyone needs to talk...I'll share my cell.
We got this. You and us.
I made it, as you shall.
Just reach out.

I wasnt the guys best friend or anything but it still breaks me up. He was a family man and a nice guy. So many questions...

You’re proposing that we offer support by closing an open means of communication. That’s not logical.
