| Honestly, I think the direction Tudor is headed is exciting and leaving their old designs behind is a good thing. Out of all the ‘big’ watch companies, Tudor is one that is really headed in the right direction and have some of the best new releases. Just think in the last few years we’ve got the BB58, FXD, and P39. |

However, they are trying to use new materials like ceramics, titanium, silver, and bronze, fixed lugs, thinner case sizes. Kenissi is doing a fantastic job on their movements since 2016. Getting their METAS certification. Yes, they use the same design more or less on their sports models, but their sales suggest they’re following what consumers want. Their Black Bay line has carried the company to what it is today. I doubt Tudor would even be in the top 30 of the Morgan Stanley Watch charts if they would have continued with their “rebrand” of 2009. Just my humble opinion. Luckily their older models can be had for very reasonable prices. It’s hard to argue aesthetics, if I don’t like a watch, I just don’t like a watch. I can’t warm up to a modern Seamaster or Planet Ocean. That’s what makes this hobby great is how everyone has unique taste. That being said, I think Tudor’s sales suggest they’re doing something right, even if it is variations of the same design. |
