Now I can't find it.

Anyone remember what it was?

Could you be thinking of covered call ETFs like QQQI? (Not an endorsement)

I believe covered calls were part of the strategy but I don't recognize the symbol

High-yield dividend stocks
Lument Finance Trust Inc. (LFT): \(17.45\%\) forward dividend yield
Two Harbors Investment Corp. (TWO): \(15.92\%\) forward dividend yield
AGNC Investment (AGNC): \(14.30\%\) dividend yield, but uses leverage
Nuveen Floating Rate Income Fund (JFR): \(11.70\%\) forward annual dividend yield
Ellington Financial (EFC): \(11.35\%\) forward annual dividend yield
Dow (DOW): \(6.15\%\) forward dividend yield
Important considerations Risk: A high dividend yield doesn't always guarantee a safe or sustainable investment. Some companies, like AGNC, use leverage to achieve high payouts, which amplifies both gains and losses.Sustainability: Always research a company's financial health and the sustainability of its dividend. Some REITs may have unstable dividend payouts, even if they offer a high current yield. Diversification: Don't put all your money into one high-yield stock. A diversified portfolio can help reduce risk.

Straight from their website In case the picture doesn’t work for you:
* The most recent distribution on 11/25/2025 contains 100.00% return of capital and 0.00% income.

This means that they earned 0% profit and the dividend is 100% composed of your principal.
You are handing them cash and they just hand it back to you while the share price drops.

Yeah, that one is pretty bad. Honestly, I can’t name a high yield or high dividend fund that doesn’t underperform long term. Most dividend ETFs underperform [in CAGR] the funds they are best compared to by around twice the difference in dividends. Yes, even if you reinvest the dividends. More or less depending on strategy.

SPY vs SPYD vs SPYG
SCHD vs SCHG
VIG vs VTI

The covered call ones don’t necessarily follow that formula, but they universally underperform the underlying. High-yield REIT ETFs also tend to bleed, at least in recent times, turning your initial investment unto a smaller one, while giving the tax man a cut of the distributions.

Just sell shares when you want to squeeze money out of them.

BCAT is a Blackrock fund of some sort that pays a 22 percent dividend, has a fairly narrow one year trading range and a PE of 9. This is not the only fund they have that pays this.

I don't understand how is this possible.

1st picture is share price only, second picture accounts for dividend reinvestment. Comparing those will show the answer to your question. The next two show annualized CAGR (dividends reinvested) over various periods against the SP500 benchmark (which is a lower bar than VOO or SPY). Last pic is drawdown comparison against SP500.

Here’s another couple pics highlighting how such a high yield is possible. You’ll note that the difference between the two TTM share price charts is 25.43%. In other words, if you have an SP500 ETF and sell shares to give yourself an annualized 26%-27% “dividend”, your account value chart would look exactly like BCAT’s share price chart. But BCAT doesn’t give you that.

I can save you a lot of time and tears and just tell you "don't".

There is no such thing as a free lunch and there's a good reason that funds like VTI have literally Trillions under management and funds like ULTY only have $1.4 Billion.

Those ultra high yields come a tremendous cost.  You may not lose money but you will severely under perform over any reasonable period of time.  Take any one of those covered call strategy funds and compare their performance to the underlying assets they are based on the difference will be plain as day.

Yieldmax has mismanaged ULTY so badly they are now forced to do a 10:1 reverse split to avoid being delisted.

It's a shame because for awhile there it was actually doing quite well.  Guess the fund manager put all the profits up his nose.

that’s not a bug, it’s a feature.

If you dig around on yieldmax and many other firms’ websites who offer similar ultra high dividend ETFs you’ll see announcements of those ETFs being closed all the time.  They pay out so much principal that they become worthless so they liquidate the assets and return the rest of your money and start over with a new fund name.

Exactly; it isn’t mismanaged…..the whole strategy is just a sub-par investment at best. Whether run by Yieldmax, or whoever.

I had ULTY for about 2 months.  At the time was getting returns of 0% capital and 100% income.  Made a few bucks and walked away.  Ive done the same for the yieldmax tesla .  Im up 30% since August.  Probably going to run it to the end of the year and then walk away.
