| I haven't complied with court paperwork. The almost ex-wife and I aren't arguing over anything, no kids, I signed over our house, we just want a divorce. This will be the 4th phone conference that accomplished nothing. |

When I got divorced, we had a pretty simple agreement, all written up by one lawyer, 50/50 custody. Her and the lawyer went to court and the judge signed off on it. BUT THE FUCKING JUDGE ASKED HER IF SHE WANTED CHILD SUPPORT FOR 50/50 CUSTODY? Why in the fuck is that the judges decision? And why would you bring it up for a 50/50 custody case. Judicial over reach much? Anyway she told the judge no. And everything was signed off and finalized. Things didn't get interesting till a year or two later she decided she wanted the kids full time and was moving away. My lawyer then proceeded to bury her. I would bring this up with everyone. We have an agreement, does anyone else here want a full financial disclosure other than the judge? No? What's the problem? We have an agreement signed off by both parties. Why are you interjecting your personal feelings in a simple divorce case? If the judge insists in going through all this, is she expecting a check too or what? Fine. Here's the my financial stuff. Everything else is off the table. I want 50% of the house, etc. |
| My ex-wife wanted a divorce and we didn't argue over anything as well. She went online and found a do it yourself divorce decree/order, filled it out, printed it out (split everything according to who owned what and who wanted what - all amicable and she even didn't want any of my pension or my guns) and we went to the courthouse and asked the judge to sign it. He read it and advised that we change one small part -technical specification by going down to the clerks office and use their computer/printer to fix it and come back. We did it in 10 minutes and he signed the decree/order. She just had to go back in 3 months for the final signature. No attorneys and cheap. She had me sign a quit claim on the house and she took over the house payments. You're claiming that your divorce is agreeable, so, what's your problem? |
| Why not full financial disclosure? You have businesses or property that you have not sold off yet (to someone who may be willing to sell it back at a small profit/loss)? Have you not yet developed a gambling problem that you are now seeking counselling for (in order to explain the withdraws from the bank in cash)? You are inviting the MAN into your life. The longer time period you give people to get into her head, the higher the chance that lawyers get involved. Not the happy, everything is rainbows and sunshine family friend lawyers. More like the nasty, "drain this couple of all their resources" lawyers. TT |

He's thinking of the innocent individuals affected by your and your wife's ill conceived marriage - the children. The judge doesn't give a Frack about your and your wife's selfishness, he sounds like he's concerned for the welfare of the children affected by your divorce. Pretty simple concept to understand. The judge doesn't know you or your wife and there are a lot of deadbeat dads and a lot of worthless mothers as well. He's just looking out for the kids. |

Quoted: So I'm supposed to tell them everything I own? if the court told you to, then yes. If you don't like the court telling you to do things, hire a lawyer to fight it. When he loses, either comply or enjoy a free taxpayer funded vacation in jail courtesy of contempt of court. |

Quoted: So I'm supposed to tell them everything I own? No you don't.......UNLESS you get found out and are issued a contempt citation or it could be grounds for an appeal later. Either way, the judge is going to love you tenderly not to mention your attorney's bill is going to get larger and larger.

Quoted: So I'm supposed to tell them everything I own? News Flash: Your wife owns what you own: You own what she owns. You can argue the 'I owned it before I married her' part, if that is your line of thought, with the court. Be done with it, and get single ASAP. Jay |
