What's big enough to cause the destabilization of society? Let's consider the mentions of "soul containers" and "Earth is a prison planet". Let's also consider the basic premise of nearly every religion that has ever existed. Might as well toss in the current research into consciousness and while we're at it, the alien-human hybridization claims. To that end: What if the secret is that death of the human body is the only way to reach our true potential? What if WE are "NHI" contained in a sensor suite engineered for interacting with this specific dimension and once the vehicle wears out, we are released to where we really belong without the limitations of the physical filters? What if the "aliens" or "NHI" are other variants of sensor suites that are aware of the bigger picture and just visiting this dimension/realm/reality? If that was somehow proven, the suicide rate would be insane. Materialism along with the rat race would become irrelevant. Religions would reject it, even though it aligns closely with their core beliefs and only drops the idea of a reward/punishment system. I swear I'm not high right now. Just postulating. |

The body is just a shell is a fairly common religious belief and fully jives with your postulation. It’s been the defacto belief of humanity for recorded history. I have been interested in ideas that consciousness, cognition, is a higher dimensional operation. |

I’ve had this kind of thought myself on occasion. That there is one “truth” and religions have coopted it to their ends, putting their spin and flavor on it. I do wish they’d found a middle ground though; we went nearly full-on materialist while leaving some amazing, mind-expanding conceptual knowledge out on the fringes. |

There was an interesting theory tossed out in physics, well, an idea I heard. Somebody who is way too into math, like hard math geeks that physicists go to in order to get the equations right for their idea, most all of them do. You need to know enough math to explain what you are trying to do and they'll do the arranging. So.. after simplification of all theories and substituting linked variables between equations, there's only space and time remaining. There is no need for all the constants of the universe. There is no matter. Everything is either space and time and since space and time are the same thing, the only thing needed is the clock. Comes dangerously close to nudging simulation theory, but not mentioning it. We are essentially a bunch of data moving through space (time) to get somewhere on time (location x universal fixed constant). I haven't seen the math or paper myself, just heard about it or saw it in a post somewhere, maybe even in this forum. As I said, it's a new theory that breaks us down to data floating in time. There is no way to know if these are valid ideas or not. Could that be part of what the big secret is? We are nothing, but so long as we are conscious, we are something instead of nothing, so everything is either something or nothing and trying to figure that out make the flow dodge your experiments to prove that either God is real or not (I have had too many things assist in hard times despite being a spiritual sort and there were some things in my life I simply cannot explain without God, but if they try to say God isn't real, there is some presence that fills the role under a different name. That could be in the release among other Big Questions. It seems they've all been pointing at each other or very close for a while trying to come up with the Grand Unified Theory. |

| Prometheus is what I keep coming back to. Especially if you believe human existence is not the final stage, but a kind of raw material yet to be "processed" - whether by technology, evolution, spiritual practice, or all of them. Soul catchers for food or "evolutionary" growth? Liver gets eaten and grows back every night, and every morning a new generation steals the fire again. To what end? One of the more interesting explanations I've heard is if something were omnipotent and omniscient, perhaps it would "container" itself with deliberate limitations to experience, with novelty... itself basically. Or is it past/future god AI and we've done this before in human history and forgot? |

Kind of like MS Windows, except love is involved with the reason for life to keep proceeding? "What happens if we do X?" is the fundamental question behind all human endeavors. It could very well be the basic driver for a collective consciousness to manifest individuality experienced by unique and separate support systems that each contain a sliver of the greater connecting energy. New experiences, something learned, a "didn't expect that!" moment. All could be the true purpose of this entire reality. It's just one giant cause and effect experiment. Not saying you are wrong since we're all just asking pothead questions here. |

Religions would reject it, even though it aligns closely with their core beliefs and only drops the idea of a reward/punishment system. I swear I'm not high right now. Just postulating. 1) People are terrified of the unknown, which is why it doesn't happen already (mass suicide I mean). 2) The truth about Reality has been expounded on so many times that it's almost not worth discussing. Here's the jist: The body is temporary (obviously), the product of the Ego (the sense of I and/or duality), which is synonymous with the Mind (the sum total of all differentiations, concepts (including dimensions, time, and space, and the power to perceive those products), all observed by the individual Soul, which is itself nothing more than the reflection of the Absolute (God, Consciousness, the "Self" etc, or whatever anyone wants to name it). There is nothing else except God. The error of the mind/Ego does not disappear with death, so people are "reborn" based on their merits, beliefs, and evolution. All evolution is the realization that everything is God and the Ego never existed in the first place. All de-evolution is the strengthening of mistaking both the existence of individuality (Ego/Mind), and the association of one's existence with it. This includes the grossest manifestation of this in the ideas that "I am my body" and "I am my things", to include beliefs. All suffering occurs because of this error. Suffering ceases when the error is realized and the Truth is experienced. All beings repeat this until they realize the Truth. Suicide doesn't help anything, especially if the suicide is based on unfulfilled desires, because you'll just keep coming back to fulfill those desires until they have been fulfilled, up to and until the only desire left is to stop having desires because there is a realization that desires only lead to misery and suffering. Suicide because of existential exhaustion isn't helpful either, because you will need to reach that point in another life (more suffering) and start investigating the nature of existence, yourself, and God again, so you might as well just start in this life, rather than ending it. Once a person is truly just sick of the world, the path back to God is quick. Even when people reach towards needing "meaning", most continue to look outside, which is just the mind. The more they seek, the more of the same they find. This includes religion. If people keep looking externally (like in science for example), they will keep finding more and more mind to infinity. It's only by looking internally at the basis for all existence- the mistaken concept of duality and/or Ego, that real answers start to appear. Of course, only the individual can look inside themself to begin investigating and resolving themselves. Depending on your inclination, this can seem spiritual or philosophical (God vs Truth- both the same in the end). So, that's the answer to your question. Here's a little more background which might help understand the first part: When enough earnest investigation is done by the individual (again, synonymous with Ego/mind), we realize that there is in fact no Ego. There is not even any creation. In fact, there was never even any individual ever to begin with, nor was their ever really ignorance. There was only ever the idea of Ego and Ignorance, which was always just God anyways...Obviously at this point we've reached beyond logic, and that doesn't make "sense," but it is the Truth. The only thing that exists is God/Absolute/Self, always and forever, infinite and self-standing. This Absolute that is everything is infinite, beyond the mind- beyond comprehension or sense perception (all qualities of the mind). If you can see it, hear it, smell it, know it, feel it, think of it, imagine it, touch it, taste it, etc. it's not really real. Just a dream of God, for a manner of speaking. Everything exists in God, though only apparently (nothing is actually Real, except God, we all, all existence, universes, etc. are only apparently real because of the mistake of the mind identifying them as real). |

| As far as earth being a prison planet it's actually not. The entire prison thing is us not being told how to escape the prison built in our own mind. Escape is pretty easy once the truth is known. I do have to wonder why now, at this exact time in history, we humans are finally being awakened by the truth that has been kept hidden. Well part of it at least. We are living the book of Revelations but it will not be a great flood or fire. The earth will go in two directions. Some of us will ascend to the new earth while others will be left behind in the old 3D earth. What either world will be like is the Quadrillion $ question in my mind. |

Agreed - and to go a step further I think there are a lot of links to multilingualism and improved cognitive abilities such as problem-solving, memory, and executive function.
