Anyone else get one of these? https://www.apexgunparts.com/hungarian-ak-63f-fixed-stock-parts-kit-w-populated-barrel-assembly-16-25-matching-7-62x39-good.html https://centerfiresystems.com/collections/parts-kits/products/hungarian-ak63f-fixed-stock-parts-kit-with-populated-barrel-7-62x39-matching-serial-numbers They also have non-matching S/N kits for just under $500. My matching kit arrived from CFS. It's a bit more worn on the exterior than I'd prefer but the bore looks new and the bolt shows minimal wear. ![]() "2CJAA" Iraqi markings. ![]() I feel like I overpaid a bit at $600 but the last AK parts kit I bought was an unissued Polish underfolder for $250 around 20 years ago. I had to get it on since populated barrel kits are back. Now - who makes the best AK receivers these days? Is Nodak-Spud still making them? |

I saw some people were getting nearly like-new kits with these and couldn't resist getting a kit with known lineage, though. This kit is like a police trade-in - beat and worn on the outside but nearly new on the inside. |

Haven't bought a kit since the barrels were banned. It's great to not have to deal with US-made barrels or headspacing again. |

I have a shit load of receivers and three parts kits without barrels. I ruined my first barrel/trunnion trying to drill the barrel pin. Any cheap Romanian kits with barrels? I've been tempted to torch cut my WASR10 turn it into a proper AKM and serve as a test run, but would rather get a real parts kit. |

Very cool OP. I'd FO if I didn't already have a couple of Hungarian and Romanian parts kits stored away. |

I can see them eventually settling for ~$400. The days of $99 complete kits are long gone. |

Of course, the Yugos were well used (or had blood pitting), so that detracted a bit. |

But your kit has an even more unique and historical significance! |

Its $600 but its a legit Iraq war relic - I would get one, enjoy it. For a receiver I would go to Recreator and have it marked with the same SN as the trunion like an original. https://recreatormfg.com/product/hungarian-feg-forty-7-receiver-7-62x39/ |

My step-dad was my kit building buddy and he's passed away now, so I'll probably inherit the couple of kits he still has. Iirc, there's another amd-65 and an underfolder of some flavor. It'll be cool to build the amd-65 as it was intended since the whole form 1 thing has happened. |

I only bought one because I thought $250 for a kit was a lot back then - despite it being in unissued condition and included bayonet, two mags, cleaning kit, three-cell mag pouch, and sling. Dumbass 19-year-old me. Of the Polish, Hungarian, Romanian, and Yugo kits I had, the Polish PMKMS was easily the best quality.

I later rebuilt it with rivets out of concern screws were too weak to secure a barrel trunnion. Then along came the SCAR. ![]() Condolences on your step-dad's passing. Glad you had that experience with him and can carry on with his kits. |

Glad you had that experience with him and can carry on with his kits. I was there for all of it. $139 RPK kits back in the day. I sold them at gun shows. Plenty of Tapco stuff he sold off cheap to move it fast. Complete RPK furniture new in the wrap for $19.99 Remember those AK74 mag packs? 4 mags in a raindrop camo pouch. Some were new with new cleaning kits and stripper clips and spoon. Some were used and some had no cleaning kits. Remember the price? $16 I took them to gun shows and sold them $10 a mag and kept the new ones. That pic of mine above the polish underfolder I think the kit was $300 it was mint |
