I dried my spool for four hours and it's printing like crap.. Well the supports are. They aren't sticking to the plate despite me putting some glue down. It is the blue that is giving me grief. My red spool printed fine. I'm learning to hate PETG.. |
To say that you are on thin ice would be a vastly optimistic view of your current situation. The ice has melted. You are being supported by the surface tension of water.

I'm a noob struggling with petg at the moment as well. I took mine out of the sealed bag and dried it for 12 hours in my ams. I'm having bed adhesion issues though. I've been printing some 608 size bearing races for my cereal boxes and the parts will look ok but a couple of parts will pop loose at the last few layers. I'm using my super tack plate that I just cleaned with hot soapy water and blew dry. |

| I have never dried anything. pla and petg and abs works fine. i store them in ziplock and I keep spools in the AMS with a shit ton of old desiccants. no issues that I know about. |

Petg should stick too well. Common issue is residue pla on the plate, which petg absolutely will not stick to. I dry filament at least overnight, but I don't call it done until the hygrometer bottoms out. |
Once you realize that all power comes from the credible threat of the use of deadly force, and the gov't hates you, most things become easy to understand..

Printing this with pla that has been sitting in my AMS for well over a month. Imported the file and hit print...  This is what the PETG did after drying for 4 hours.

| I'm going to run the spool thru my dryer for the day tomorrow and see if that makes a difference. |

I just printed some 4 year old PETG on a satin sheet on a Prusa Core One. I apparently had some bits in the nozzle, left over from the galaxy black PLA I used previously. That caused some random problems in the print, and burnt PLA on the nozzle that sometimes transfer to the print. I've been printing only PLA on the satin sheet. I didn't wash it, and the PETG has been printing fine on it. Until I figured out it was bits of PLA in the nozzle causing problems, I dried the PETG for 8 hours, and didn't seem to make much difference. It was Prusament PETG fwiw. |
